Although I do agree with Rafi.  I believe the Ramba"m supports what you're saying here.  See Hil. Megillah 2:17 about junk food and actually providing for the needs of another's seudah.  I believe he also supports the idea of getting ones priorities straight, ie. giving too much tzedaqah beyond your means is stupid, etc.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;On the years I haven't had the money, I have had to give the minimum, and I accepted that I did the best I could.
