I'm sure you'd agree if you were in the same situation. When you've lied before, you deserve to be fired. Lie to your significant other, fired from relationship. Lie to your parents, fired from being a child. Lie to a friend, fired from friendship. Don't make the situation any bigger than it really is. He lied. You do it; I do it; everyone does it. He gets punished and we all move on. Just like a relationship fight, spanking, and a pissed friend. Don't pretend you're "holier-than-thou" to this situation, and certainly don't suggest something that would make you a hypocrite. Forgive, forget, and live your life.

Agreed. Through all this UT fans need to realize that instead of tear down Tennessee basketball altogether, we need to encourage and support the rest of the team as much as we can. They will surely need it.

This is a Tennessee student news website, and the majority of our viewers are interested in seeing how the Tennessee team does and that affects our coverage significantly. Turn on your local news and see how they cover a game. Listen to the radio network. Everyone has an audience they are catering to, but that doesn't mean they are unbiased in the reports they give. There is too much news to report everything, and that decision is up to us. If you feel that you need to flame this comment section as a message board, feel free to do so. It won't affect our policies and shouldn't really make you feel any better about yourself. If you look at the list, both VT and UT scores are posted.

Journalism aside, your Hokies played a great game tonight, and I would hope you would celebrate with your friends. Congratulations, and Happy New Year to you.

Considering this is an opinion piece, it's his opinion. You're entitled to yours too.

But he does have a point: Most fans in the SEC (other than those for Florida) don't like Tebow and will make fun of him at every opportunity. "The Promise" is gold for heckling.

Instead of ridiculing someone's opinion and insulting him, consider why other fans want to mock Tebow. It's because he's had an incredible career and they are jealous to some degree.

Enjoy your success instead of making yourself look like an ungrateful winner.

Smart comments there miker. Think whatever university you're affiliated with has a 0% crime rate among students? Doubt it. Guarantee Kiffin comes down with serious suspensions for all who played a role in the robbery. Dismissal is a very real option as well. Kiffin's dismissed other starters for less than this in the spring, so maybe you don't know exactly all you think you know.

There have been a multitude of letters to the editor published in The Daily Beacon publicly bashing the Pride and its leadership in the past few weeks. As Editor of this site (and a journalist), I feel it is important to publish both sides of an issue and the Beacon just isn't doing so.

@marvinVol The Spurrier comments about Kiffin don't translate to this article because everything mentioned is about things that Kiffin has done since he has been here. We all know the story.

Nowhere in the article did it mention that Kiffin should walk away from the money in Oakland, just that Kiffin brought baggage with him to UT.

As for the "Maybe you should read the rules prior to writing articles" comment...it doesn't make sense. This event was well reported on and you obviously knew about it. You probably read about it somewhere. A fact is a fact, and it's a fact that it happened.

Just because the gas thing may not be true doesn't change that it was reported on and that's why it was brought up in this article.

Overall your comment doesn't seem to have any direction or make any substantial point about Coach Kiffin or the events that occurred. It's kinda funny.
