I have lost more weight than my kid weighs. I am sure if
I had a podcast or something relevant to the watchers I could have kept
them. So I will be filming MecanicalMashup soon and once I get that going I
may make another trip down to SanFran to do another show with Systm and get
Diggnation some non-stale beer, I may even see if I can work it so that I
can get on to the Diggnation show as well, this may have worked out for the
better for me. I am positive the beer was fine too. It has a really unique
flavor that could be mistaken for it not being right. I know this does not
make is sound good but trust me it is one of the best beers out there.

Ben

Re: SolidWorks World 2009 Roll Call

Master Corpral Eadie reporting SIR! Here is what I love about SWW you can talk and not have to dumb down or explain yourself cause all the people there understand what you are saying unlike owners, salesmen.... I have also taken the assembly and saved it out no problem on my machine. Even on a virtual machine with 512gb and a simulated video card with other apps running. There is more going on than his resources. I am 100% sure his machine should do this.

Chris is right on the heating, and yes Chris it is a laptop. Give that a try. Good way to see if this is the problem. Is after a night of being off, turn the laptop on, start SW right away, open the drawing and save as. Since the computershould be cold at this point if that is the problem it will work and you know the problem. Barring that see below:

That being said, Dave do a memory check ( google for a open source memory tester) and see if there is faulty memory.

Re: Since SW08, a regression in table positi …

Great use of SolidJott!

Re: I can get into the Dashboard. But I wonder why you do not make configurations of the threaded shank with the different heads? You can suppress the head geometry of one and build the other etc etc....

Re: Question About Assemblies
I am trying t …

This is a good solution but keep in mind that when inserting Part B into A that if you update part B make sure that Part A is open and update part A immediately as the parametrics on a part within a part is kludgy. I haven't tested this with 2009 but 2008 and earlier require this added step to make sure the parametrics are correct.

Re: Question About Assemblies
I am trying t …

You could save the assembly as a part and then add the fillet after joining the bodies.

Or you could make a derived part out of the assembly by using the join function and fillet the derived part.

This is from the help menu under 'Creating a Joined Part' :

Create the parts that you want to join, then create an assembly containing the parts.

Position the parts as desired in the assembly. The parts may either touch each other or intrude into one another.

Save the assembly but do not close the window.

Insert a new part into the assembly:

Click New Part on the Assembly toolbar, or click Insert, Component, New Part.

Click a plane or planar face on a component.

In the new part, a sketch opens on the selected plane.

Close the sketch. Because you are creating a joined part, you do not need the sketch.

In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click the new part name, select Rename Part, and rename the new part.

Click Insert, Features, Join.

Make selections and set options in the Join PropertyManager.

Click to create the joined part.

Re: just looking around for now

Welcome, do not hesitate to participate as well!

Re: why should I use Solidworks over Proe?

I have had very little experience in ProE so I could not tell you.
