Galway is such a great jumping off point for so many amazing activities. I'm still kicking myself that in the three years we were in Ireland, we never made it to the Aran Islands.

I got off a Celebrity cruise two days ago and I HATED IT. We'd never been on a big boat cruise before (small, expedition cruising in Alaska with UnCruise and river boat cruising with AMA Waterways), so we were curious to try it out. We booked a four-day trip out of Puerto Rico and it seriously left such a bad taste in my mouth. The bars ran out of booze and were trying to substitute well items for things that were supposed to be premium (we got the most expensive drinks package because we like good alcohol). The food was hit and miss, with the steak being the only consistently good thing. The staff was overwhelmed and surly -- with guests and with each other. They were pushing for upgrades on everything. While dining in the main dining room, they were pushing the paid ones. I felt like I was constantly being harassed by timeshare salespeople. The excursions were expensive for what they are (I take blame for this -- as a newb, I didn't want to have to figure them out by myself, but $59 for an hour at the beach is ridiculous). The serenity pool area turned into a party zone every day and even though there were "quiet please" signs everywhere, no one enforced it. Someone stole my prescription sunglasses at the pool. And the cherry on the shit sundae is that I cam down with norovirus during our last day on the boat. For what we paid for this cruise with our room class, and all the upgraded packages and excursions we got, we could have done a week at an all-inclusive in Jamaica that we loved.

I'm kind of kicking myself right now because there was an Edge sailing around the same time we were looking at our cruise, but I didn't want to get locked into seven days if we hated it. Looking at your pictures, the experiences were night and day.

Now that we're back living in the U.S., I am really going to miss France. Not on your list, but places that I wholeheartedly recommend are Lyon (especially for foodies!) and Brittany. I'm not sure I've seen a more stunning coastline than I have there.

I'm so glad you loved Nola! It's my favorite city in the US.

We always make time for Mothers, but I go with an oyster po'boy. And then eat more oysters at Acme Oyster House. Gotta get a sazerac at Napoleon House and brunch at The Court of Two Sisters. Oh! And take in some live music at Fritzels before wandering down the way to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shoppe. And a session at Preservation Hall is not to be missed. If you can catch Kermit Ruffins doing a live show you've struck pay dirt.

I would add Dromoland Castle and Glenlo Abbey to this list as well. I've had terrible service at Clontarf Castle and my friends wanted to check out of Fitzpatrick's within 20 minutes of walking into their room. If you have dog allergies, stay away from Ballyseede Castle. I happen to love the pooches who live there, but some people might not.

Ahh, that's too bad you guys didn't enjoy it. We went in February 2016 and (despite coming down with the flu on day 2) had an extraordinary time. I think the lack of heat and humidity may have gone a long way toward having such a pleasant trip.

We spent a night in Vienna on a Christmas market cruise down the Danube, as well as took a side trip to Salzburg and of the two, I vastly preferred the latter. You should definitely try to fit it on your itinerary if at all possible. On our flight to SF in November, we did a 48-hour stopover in Reykjavik as Iceland had been on my bucket list *forever.* It was a quick trip but we managed to pack in so much, including seeing the Northern Lights and visiting the Blue Lagoon. I hope you love it as much as we did.

I live in Ireland and am *tired* of the chip + signature. I don't live in a tourist neighborhood so every time I have to sign a receipt you'd think I was asking them to go through some extreme feat of endurance. Frankly, it's quite ridiculous. I'm really wanting a chip + pin card that doesn't automatically default to the need for a signature. I understand this works at kiosks, but I want it to be chip + pin everywhere. Is this not an option?

I got tired of lugging my Nikon DSLR around and decided to make the switch to a smaller, mirrorless camera last year and ended up with the Sony Alpha 6000 as well. While I generally love it, two things generally bother me: (1) the macro is crap, and (2) my screen regularly cuts out. Living in Dublin, I spend a lot of time in low-lit pubs and I can't use my camera's auto features in there to get good pictures. More times than not I end up pulling out my iPhone for those moments which drives me bonkers.

Positano has been on my bucket list since I watched Only You, starring Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., and Billy Zane back in 2004. (Side note: I later lived in Marisa's character's apartment building two floors up.) I told the other half we are definitely going there this summer.

So stunning!

We have a two-day stopover on our way back to San Francisco for Thanksgiving and I'm giddy with anticipation. No swimming in glacier lagoons for us given the temps at the end of November, but I'm looking forward to *hopefully* seeing the Aurora Borealis.
