If Peyton is thought to be healthy with 2-3 good years left—as McNabb was—and if we still draft a young guy to develop, and ESPECIALLY if he doesn't cost any draft picks…then you can sign me up for Peyton for the same reason. Problem is, the first IF is a huge (and distinguishing) one.

To your first objection, I don't believe McNabb was the same player or person in his first year here that he was in his last year there. And I don't think the transformation was predictable.

That's a good point, but I suspect Landry would be a good teammate toward a
newcomer as well. Until it happens, I like seeing the current squad stick
together, especially since those additions are far from certain.
