I've never watched the show but have watched a few videos of this family and really like what I see (except for the long beards!!!!!! ;-)

I hope they ditch A&E, which is within its rights to tell Phil he's disenfranchised -- it's their show, after all -- and go to another network.

Good plan, LolKatzen. This vid is the second of two videos of the Elora Festival Singers' The Mystery of Christmas, which came out in 1997. It's my favourite Christmas album, and was recorded at St. Mary Magdalene in Toronto.

Like I keep on saying: All of this techie stuff is going to be the end of us. Passwords mean nothing, security can be breached at any time by unscrupulous tech-savvy criminals.

I often wonder about inside jobs, like when there's identity theft, did it have anything to do with an employee of the bank where you do online banking? Did this theft of Target's customers' credit-card and debit-card data have anything to do with someone who works in their accounts department?

This stuff is happening everywhere and it's a perfect storm: careless people who don't protect their online information or don't know how to because they don't understand how the system works (I'm thinking of over 60s), mega corporations/banks which get rich despite online fraud, dishonest and scheming employees who don't take their privileged positions seriously, the fact that being honest and "loving your neighbour as yourself" are no longer the modus operandi of a vast majority of people.

I'm not too hopeful for the future. There are a lot of unscrupulous and dishonest people working in our stores, banks, security operations, etc., who are only too happy to fleece the public. And then we have ineffective police "services" to deal with fraud and theft: How many of them are implicated? How many of them get kickbacks?

Sadly, the whole system is breaking down. Trust is an old-fashioned concept. It's now, more than it's ever been before, dog eat dog.
