I wonder if the same discussion would be had if someone who had a strong religious belief asked that only someone of the same belief care for their child. I am not condoning the actions as they are repulsive and shows how far we have not come in regard to racism, but requests like that are made everyday and I have witnessed it when my child was in the NICU.
