With Composer, I can update dependencies by just running `composer update` which maintains the composer.lock file. I haven't found a workflow that allows me to use a drush make file to update dependencies reliably across environments. Is the drush lock file (mentioned by @pjcdawkins here) something I can use to update dependencies this way?

This post is funny, because Naomi Wolf thought that The Electronic Intifada, one of the most widely read English language web sites about Palestine (since 2001), was a hoax web site. https://www.facebook.com/na... She went further to say "Honestly there are laws in the US against even accessing sites that might have 'material support for terrorism.'" So it's funny that she "is trying to teach her followers the basics of journalism" when her own laziness and prejudice caused her to doubt responsible and verifiable reporting.

Media have picked up on a story alleging that in 1962 Nelson Mandela interacted with an Israeli operative in Ethiopia.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation can confirm that it has not located any evidence in Nelson Mandela's private archive (which includes his 1962 diary and notebook) that he interacted with an Israeli operative during his tour of African countries in that year. Both the diary and the notebook were used as evidence against him in the 1963-1964 Rivonia Trial for sabotage.

In 1962 Mr Mandela received military training from Algerian freedom fighters in Morocco and from the Ethiopian Riot Battalion at Kolfe outside Addis Ababa, before returning to South Africa in July 1962. In 2009 the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s senior researcher travelled to Ethiopia and interviewed the surviving men who assisted in Mandela’s training – no evidence emerged of an Israeli connection.

This is completely false. The law in Gaza is based on British colonial laws, and the law does not call for punishment with death.

Views RSS is one method, and the modules you described are fine ones to use. I needed to make a podcast feed, and iTunes Views RSS module (which has dependencies on still other Views RSS modules) was not up to the task. Supporting additional fields was difficult especially when working with files or images.

The Views UI cannot hold the couple of dozen fields required to configure a iTunes podcast. It tried, but it's a lot of fields all configured in one difficult to navigate modal.

The solution I implemented is to use entity view modes and RSS Field Formatters https://drupal.org/project/.... While I still had to write some code, working with entities and field formatters was a lot easier than Views RSS. There are fewer dependencies, too.
