I did NaNoWriMo last year.
If you are going to do it - DO plan, or it just won't go anywhere. I aimed at 2,000 words a day (on top of working full time), just so I could get ahead in places and take a day off when I needed to. That sort of worked. I finished a day or two early.
It was exhausting, and I did learn a lot, but I've barely been able to write anything since. I certainly haven't wanted to look at the output - for quite a few reasons. It certainly wasn't my finest work - but that's not the point of NaNo.

I haven't actually, or I don't remember doing so, but I have studied a bit of Lakoff.

There's a line in an Idlewild song that always makes me laugh in a really dorky way, because while studying for a-levels, we decided it made an excellent pun. "I laugh at your conversational skills, or lack of".

I either need to get out more, or less.

Sadly, the boy is too skinted. I'll keep my ears out for others, though. I blame the fact that he bought a lemur.

I really wanted to go to that, but the timing is bad for me. I think my very good friend Patrick is still trying to go though. I'll be very jealous if he does.
