Iresponsibility, this is sheer irresponsibility of people like Ram Gopal Verma. Just because you have a gadjet in your hand and you are plain bored does not allow you to crassly send in these kind of stupidities and spread a controversy.

I presume these are cheap ways adopted to keep one in the lime light.

Encourage club and scool cricketers to come and watch by subsidising their tickets. Do not allow channels to cram advertisement at the drop of hat, between balls, immediately once a wicket falls and eating inot palying time should be seriously viewed and plans to penalise broadcasters who do this should be in place.

Have good amenities and safety practices in the stadium and promote these changes properly for people to patronise this. Sell ticekets to the limit and penalise stadiums which over sell and make people jostle for space, amenities etc. Never allow people to fend for themselves when they come to watch matches have enough volunteers (well informed not ill informed) enough sign board to direct them. Make proper instadia and exstadia announcements without interfereing into the play.

Good, able but decent security should be in place it should notbe intimidating but at the same time quietly effective. Smooth entry, exits, more than adequate parking lots, complete elimination of touts, nil harassment would be all virtues which would encourage people to come and watch in the stadium

There is something wrong here. Professional athletes need to be talked to even if they are not being asked to represent,now. The board might have valid reasons for not using someone but that someone should be kept in the loop and confidence should be given to him to keep his fitness and performance level on an upswing always and he performs when he is selected.

Talking to someone does not mean special treatment but keeping the talent pool and interest, alive among all contenders.

Now we clearly know where we stand vis-a-vis our young players are concerned and where they stand when they are thrown to the wolves and asked to stand on their own.

Sri Lanka too came with a second string and they unearthed Chandimal and Kapugadera further cemented his claims for regular senior honours. While none of our youngsters did not make any challenges on themselves, woefully the captain himself let him down personally by coming down and denying the opportunity to press a regular place in the seniors team and that too when he was in the form of his life he took those crazy decision not once, but four times to undermine his own personal opportunity.

That clearly shows his merits as a captain and personally i would not recommend future captaincy stints for him. Rohit had proved himself again and definitely he needs to be pushed to the seniors and test team to take regular and serious responsibilities.

Our bench strength, in bowling is shown in poor light and we need to quickly re-assess the establisheds like RP, Ishant, Irfan against the rookies who were seen in action. I am sure the three mentioned can still rub shoulders with Zaheer regularly for another three seasosns, atleast during which time these rookie bowlers can be groomed to fill in the shoes of the seniors when they hang theirs.

Pragyan, Ashwin need to be blodded regularly with the seniors to challenge Harbhajan and keep the bowling unit razor sharp. These three alongwith the 4 established pacemen Zaheer, RP, Ishant and Irfan would be a potent bunch to pick with always for the next 3 seasons.

Now where are our batsmen? who is to challenge Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman? True all of them have another 2 to 3 seasons, at best, left in them but who is to fill in? Rohit can but he too is 28 or 29 if i am not wrong but who else is going to make the cut Raina, Pujara, Pandey, Rayudu, Virat, Vijay who is going to challenge our greats and take the burden of maintaining the legacy.

Has the board and the selection staff have done an assessment on these youngsters, technically, temperamentally. Are they ready to take a test grind season after season for the next 5 to 10 seasons. If we do not have a scientific grooming and assessment i am sure we will see a state were in we will struggle to hold onto the position which we have attained now, thro' the Fab four along with Kumble.

Yousuf had been a terrific batsman for Pakistan if i remeber right there was a two year period when he amassed consecutive 1000 runs in a calander year in test matches.

When guys who do not even know how to hold a bat take decision on his career and commitment then he has right to feel miffed and go by what his heart says.

In the name of country why should someone forsake his self-respect. In the first placve where was the talent, attitude, past deeds all went when you took decision on him.

Now it is decency you aloow him to introspect, retrospect, assess what is good for him and then take a decision for himself.

It is wrong to push him in the name of country, patriotism, duty bound and other hogwashes.

Learn to value him as an individual and do not use him as a doormat that is what Pakistan and its cricket board had been doing to all their great players.

All politicians be decent and keep away from cricket allow that game to flourish with the natural talent available in your country yours should be the hot bed of the game but sadly all your crazy intereferences, damned show causes, unnecessary needling of players have brought about this state.

Lay off politicians, lay off, all zardaris, zamindaris, butts go away and have the courage to give to people who deserve to run this game. Then you see the flurishing this agme will take in your country.

If all of you guys have any interest in the country and this great sport take this first step. The cricketing world will salute you.

Another sham being developed here 'Day Night Test Cricket'. These are devious mind at work to sully this glorious game. T20 is already eroding into the pristine beauty of the game and with every named person in the business eulogising it, we are grappling with concern and now night test matches, coloured balls, probably cheer girls, pubs and brawls, party and hearty etc.

For heavens sake where are you taking this game men? We demand an answer, as an avid spectator why are we being subjected to so much of rules tweaking, format changes, timing changes and playing condition changes. For us to assimilate and integrate all these conundrums we end up forgetting to watch the game and are pre-occupied deciphering the loads of craps you guys come up in the name of innovation.

Sorry mates, it is high time that you guys concentrated on developing the game, developing in places where there is interest and talent and not in countries where only the money and glamour is. There is betting/match fixing to take care of and you guys have no time for it, there is embezzlement and money laundering in all the boards you guys have no time for it, domestic structure are all weak in your member countries and you guys have no time for it, the quality of play is coming down everywhere and you guys have no time for it. But there is time for devising stupid variations and pushing it down the poor viewing publics throat.

Pls understand that this game has a legacy and this needs to properly communicated to all our youngsters and we need to put in system to protect those legacy's and the youngters should be encouraged and motivated to do the same.

When there is so much of work it is a pity to hear things like night cricket, coloured clothing, pink balls etc.

Personally, i am sick and all the activities are revulsive in the extreme.

Here the issue is more about dignity and maintaining the honour of the country. Tell us something when did this party culture creep into cricket so intricately that our players are unable to avoid it and thereafter avoid the unpleasantness which accompanies it.

We had been playing active cricket since 1932, if i am correct and we had some sporadic incidents which have affected us in the past but off late we seem to be having lot more reporting of incidents. Is it because of media intrusion, vested interest of the involved public to grab media attention or is it genuine excesses by our players.

If last is the case then it is sad. Sad because our grown up players stooping and sad because the board has not given them the professional help in conducting themselves during tours. Unfortunately the list of players in the show cause are pretty seniors and who have put enough tours, individually.

Here the responsibility of the media/board becomes important, the players should not be hounded just because of the bad performance in the T20 World cup at the same time errant behaviour should not be tolerated.

We also implore the players to tone down their impetuosity and exposure which might bring forth situations like this. We have a legacy, we represent a country and we have gone to play a sport there is too much at stake and our behaviour becomes of paramount importance.

We trust the board and the players manage this with utmost care, consideration so that Indian cricket and its well being is maintained.

A good match where the juggernaut was stopped in its tracks.

The English team were all intent and poise yesterday while the Australians were first shocked and then shunted around the duration of play. The Aussie bowlers were tamed as in the semis and they had run out of ideas. I did not see one yorker attempt the whole English innings Kieswetter and Pietersen were repeatedly sashaying and confusing the length to adopt and the bowlers fell prey to their tactics and never bowled to their strength and plan.

While the batsmen were stumped in the earlier phase they managed to extricate but were not allowed to post a challenging total.

Again the team which played with its mind won the match and the team which did not apply its mind came a cropper. The team which badly wanted the title were the English while, the Aussies were flustered in the 8 for 3 opening and very much unlikely of them, never rallied from that point and went thro' the motions, that is a defeatist mindset for a hardened pro team and for a team which was termed as the juggernaut.

Congrats England and commiserations Australia.

A good match yesterday and England were deserved winners, the intent was there and they had the poise to finish things their way. They never loosen tthe strangehold they had on the Aussies from the first ball and deservedly came on top.

I alaways had the feeling that this Australian bowling can be handled and it was well handled yesterday as in the semi-final and once the batsmen innovated or hustled the Australians were not upto it in the counter. There was no single yorker attempted in the whole English innings when Kieswetter and Pietersen were sashaying around the crease they were attempting shorter and shorter deliveries with average pace and it became cannon fodder for the batsmen.

When play started the Aussie batsmen again were found wanting against a disciplined bowling attack, there was no chin music, there was not batter pace but discplined length bowling and they caved in a way like the, so called no gooders of shortpitched bowling, subcontinent teams.

The game is to a large extent played in the mind and yestreday one team had their mind on the field and played for a win while the juggernaut plodded around with self doubts to dis-integrate.

Congrtas England and commiserration Australia for a fairly good finals.

Only poor minds will contemplate changing the Captain after a bad campaign. Is that the single most cause no then sit down analyse the causes and understand whether all those causes can be addressed, properly so that it it does not recur.

This is what sound minds, good professionals and ebullient sports persons do not changing the head and wish the next man will wave a magic wand against all ills.

This is definitely our best outfit and with the fringe players we have the future looks good but sincerity, commitment, passion and drive to excel, continous and continual improvement philosophies should be drilled into them and they should be monitiored an all those aspects day in and day out, match after match irrespective of whether it is first class or second class.

There is a crying need to strengthen our bowling, we have the Pragyan Ojha's, Piyush Chawla's and Amit Mishra's and Ashwin's but where are the pacemen. Zaheer, Ishant, R.P.Singh, Nehra, Vinay Kumar but who are the people breathing on their necks. These same pacemen have not been giving those kind of consistencies expected out of them, why? is it to do with technique, willingness, lack of proper facilities to keep honing their skills or lack of stamina what, what is lacking. There has to be a scientific study and follow-up on each of these pacemen and should be strictly monitored in their own interest.

We demand the Board to do all the above spend money set this up an help India shine consistently in cricket.

My stand remains vindicated. This Australian bowling line-up could be played and played well if the heart, skill and imagination was there. Though Pakistan lost they put the fear of God in the Australian camp and kudos to them for showing the reality.

Nannes was played well yesterday, though Beausojoir is not Barbados but it proved that this bowling line-up too needed conditions to showcase their wares and they were not adapting.

Ajmal can be forgiven but Pakistan wasted a golden opportunity and the bane of the sub-continent teams losing from winning positions continue.

A good match and Mike Hussey the punching bag came back when it mattered. A true champion batsman who refused to blink and took his chances and came good for his team.

Well played both teams and we hope the final to be a razor edge affair between the arch rivals.

But, final played in Barbados will favour the Australians an would definitely test Pietersen, Eion Morgan and Co. Let us see what they come up with, the semifinal proved that the juggernaut can be stopped.

Looking forward for a good final.

I definitely appreciate the response. My impression was that this Australian line-up could have been taken and tthe sub-continent teams missed an opportunity.

I still stand by what i have said and i had only contended Mayank's claim (which sounded) that this bowling line-up is demonic, unplayable and there is nothing to take away from the Aussie win or their current status in the championship.

True, in each victory the loser had given the way somehow, somewhere else, how could the winner be.

Dear Sir,

You say, take leave, take selectors into confidence but are all these things told to the players so that they practice this with confidence.

Once out, you guys have the habit of permanently shutting the door. Have you guys addressed this concern of the players for them to come forward boldly and say that they do not feel upto it and they want a break.

Sport is a young mans game and the career span is short and definitely youngsters will like to make hay but they should be clearly apprised not at the cost of country's pride. Definitely, they should be encouraged to take fair breaks between series and tournaments to avoid burn out, listlessness and other sport afflicting syndromes.

Pls nurse cricketers don't wolf down on them for the sake of filling coffers.
