I think both Solomon and Krys did a great job in Twilight, even though their parts were small. I think that they would be great in New Moon. I hope they keep them. Just like Taylor couldn't be replaced, it would be very hard for Sam and Embry to be replaced. The fans love them too much.
Summit, you have a gold mine in your hands, don't mess it up by messing with the fans.

Okay, what I believe a lot of people forget when it comes to Jacob's "manipulation" is that he has TWO reasons for wanting Bella to choose him, and the most important one is NOT that he wants her to be his girl completely and not Edward's. The most important thing to Jacob (and don't get me wrong, her being HIS girl is extremely important to him, too) is that he REFUSES to just stand by and let Bella become a vampire! When he says that he would "rather you be dead!" it was very wrong and hurtful for him to say that to her, but he does feel that way to an extent, because LIKE EDWARD, he feels that she will be giving up her soul when she does this. He is not even sure she will be "Bella" anymore, but a monster. Edward realizes that she will, but he ALSO doesn't want Bella to become a vampire, because he is afraid that she will lose her soul and not be able to go to heaven. That is Edward's main reason for not turning Bella into a vampire in the first place! This reason is why he is so patient with the Bella/Jacob situation because a big part of him feels that Jacob would be better for her than he is! He wants Bella to keep her soul. So does Jacob, that is why he is being "so manipulative", trying to get Bella to realize she loves him too, and choose him. He is trying to save her life and her mortal soul.
I truly do feel that Bella had to choose Edward, but I also understand Jacob and DO NOT feel that he is bad or has "ulterior motives". He is very upfront with both Bella and Edward that he will fight as long as he can to keep her a human, and HIS.

One last comment regarding twilightguy's question, Bella actually says if things were normal and she didn't exist in this supernatural world, Jacob would have been her soulmate, but in this supernatural world, she HAS to choose Edward, because he is even MORE of her soulmate.

It is so cool how this series encourages people to read and discuss the series!
I am a teacher in Texas and most of my students are "at risk" students, who hate to read, but since we have been doing a "Twilight" themed lesson, I have had soo many students get excited about reading the "Twilight Saga". It is sooo awesome! It is soo fun to discuss the books with them!
I love "Twilight"!!

Hey Kaleb!
Just wanted to say I loved your summarization of Eclipse! I totally agree with most of it.
I just don't understand how people can say that Jacob is a jerk. I really think that people don't give him a chance, because they are so enthralled by Edward. Don't get me wrong. I totally agree and understand that Bella had to pick Edward, he is her soul mate and the one she loved so much, she really couldn't live without him.
However, I can totally see why she started to love Jacob. He was bringing light into her darkest days and trying to fill up that awful hole in the middle of her. How can you not love someone who is trying to heal you?
I don't feel that Jacob is any worse than Edward. (What Edward did to Bella and Jacob at the camp before the newborns came was very manipulative in my opinion.)Jacob did try to manipulate Bella more, but he was at a disadvantage, because Bella often did not even understand her own feelings, when others could clearly see what she was feeling.
Also, Jacob's main fear was that Bella would be turned into a "bloodsucking leech". He feared that even more than he feared losing her. I can understand that. Even Edward understood that. He didn't want Bella to give up being a human either! If Jacob was manipulating her, it was mainly so that she could see that she could still find love and remain a human if she chose him. Once she made her final decision, he completely accepted her decision. He only manipulated her, so that she would see the truth about her love for him, and make an informed decision, which in the end she did.
Jacob Black is actually my favorite character in the series.

Can't wait to here what you have to say about Breaking Dawn. It is very different, but also great in it's own way.

I really think the main reason Jacob went to the wedding, is because he (and Edward!) knew that Bella would want him to. She didn't want to hurt him, but she clearly says that her "best man" was missing. Jacob felt that, and even though it would break his heart more to be there, he went.

Now, when he got there he had good intentions of just being there as Bella's best friend. Of course he still had his love for her, and had a hard time not letting that show through (his kissing her on the head was a little inappropriate considering his love for her, but you would kiss your best friend on the top of her head at her wedding wouldn't you Kaleb?). However, his main thing was to make her happy.

He asked her about the honeymoon, because he wanted to know if that's when Edward was going to turn her. It was just eating him up thinking about that. He really shouldn't have asked for all concerned, but he couldn't help himself. He was glad that Bella said it wasn't time yet.

So naturally, he wonders what is the point of the honeymoon, if them being together would kill Bella (since everything he has heard and everyone else has heard is that it would!). When he hears that they are going to try to consumate their marriage while Bella is still human, it just makes him go ballistic. He truly thinks that this is Bella's DEATH SENTENCE! He really believes that there is no way that Edward can be with her without killing her. This is obvious, because all he is waiting for later is to hear that Bella is dead or that Edward already turned her. He sees NO OTHER OPTION.

We have the foresight to know that those two things are not what happens, Jacob does not. We need to try to see things from Jake's true perspective and not see some ugly alterior motive for him. He realizes that Bella is Edward's and he is not trying to win her back. He just doesn't want her to die! He is even starting to be willing for her to become a vampire, as long as Edward doesn't kill her.

You are right, Kaleb. This not the last we'll see of Jacob Black. He is meant to be in Bella's life in one way or another...

I am so glad that some people who commented here see Jacob's intentions for what they were.
He had NO intentions of "getting Bella back" or "not giving up" at the wedding. He was just there for Bella. He wanted one last moment with her because he figured she would be turning into a vampire right after the wedding, and most likely not be able to be his friend at all anymore.
He freaked out about the honeymoon because he didn't want her to DIE, which is exactly what he thought would happen if she had a "real honeymoon" and remained a human.
I don't understand why a lot of people can't see this. Probably because many of them are young and only think of the "romantic" type of love, when in the Twilight Saga there are so many different kinds of love.
The love between Jacob and Bella (and yes Bella does love him, he didn't force her to!) is multifaceted.
That is why it can still exist after the "romantic" side of it is over.
Jacob and Bella's relationship is complicated, but great.

No offense, Alisha, but Jacob KNOWS Bella is not his imprint. He wishes she was, but knows that she's not. He stares at her to try to make her that, but it doesn't work (I believe in Eclipse). She even asks him if he has imprinted, and he says no, because he has to see the girl, and all he can see is her.

However, there is a strange bond between them that Jake does not understand, since Bella is now married. This gets completely explained in BD.

Kaleb, don't be too hard on Jacob, some things are out of his complete control, which you will understand later.

It is amazing to me that after all the controversy came out after BD, it is now the favorite book of most people. I do love it, but I think Eclipse is my MOST fav.

Hey Alisha,

I really do think that the reason he couldn't give Bella competely up and move on is this strange bond they have. If Jacob didn't continue to feel that and if Bella didn't keep on insisting on seeing him and needing him in her life so badly, then he wouldn't have been around for the most important event in his life. It was his fate to be there.

I love Jacob, he is my favorite character in the series, and I hate to see him in such heartbreaking pain, but he had to go through that to get what is his destiny. Sometimes bad things happen for good reasons. I think that is one of Stephenie Meyers' major themes in the series, and an important life lesson to learn.

The controversy on BD was that many people, especially the younger readers, were upset because they felt the romantic part of Edward's and Bella's love took a back seat to the main conflict of BD. But most of us "older" fans realize that that is just a natural phase of a true love relationship. Your love matures in such a way that it is possible to not have to have that "romantic" feeling constantly at the forefront. You know that your love is always there and will not go away.

Many people complained awfully about this and really hurt SM feelings.
However, with time, the book has become the favorite in many people's eyes. I hope SM feels much better about it. I think that she probably does.

We do need you to be very involved Stephenie, as we don't want our beloved last book to turn into a "cheesy" movie.

The aspect of Reneesme is a somewhat difficult one, but if you get a good cgi guy (Chris Weitz, for instance!), it can be done. There are so many things that can be done now that we non-movie making people don't know, that I am sure they can convince you that "your baby" will be treated well.

If you are giving us Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, howis it even possible to even fathom that we won't have Breaking Dawn, too?

It is a must or we will all go into SEVERE addiction withdrawal!

Number 1 - The rumors about New Moon are getting ridiculous, but I guess it's because about a bizzillion people are all so psyched about it!
Number 2 - It is sad that Stephenie had to waste her time and address it.
(When I would much rather her help MR get started on the BD script!!)
Number 3 - If Stephenie is getting choked up watching filming, how in the heck are we
going to make it through the movie without weeping our eyes out?!

I just don't see how he can mess up an already established story, using the same screenwriter, using the same author's book (who has lots of influence on each movie!), and using the same actors playing the same characters.
I read that he had SEVERAL meetings with both Summit AND SM, so there is no way they would let him mess this up by only focusing on the battle with the newborns and not the characters everyone know and loves so well.
As others have said, he directed both 3O Days and Hardcandy just like the book/graphic novel, so we should have faith that he will stick to "Twlight" as SM wrote it.

Double and triple exactly!

It really gets old when the Team Edward people start getting so defensive over the Edward vs. Jacob thing.
Everyone has their own opinion and own taste.
Those who are Team Edward should respect others opinions and not use curse words about Jacob or call people "idiots".
Team Jacob people don't do say ugly things about Edward, so please don't say ugly things about Jacob.
We should all respect all the wonderful characters that SM created.

I guess I would say that I am Team Switzerland, because my FAVORITE character is Jacob (and Taylor is Jacob in the flesh, I love him SOO much!),
but I also realize that Bella and Edward are soulmates and MUST be together!
It just hurts me to know that Jake is going to get so hurt... (sniff).
The only thing that makes it bearable is to know that Jacob is going to go through all of this pain to be able to get the one he will be HIS soulmate, Renesmee.
