"Foxx explained that the group had given her a small donation during her first campaign for the state Senate, but never did again after they saw her voting record." Ugh, come on, gays. Why did they give her a dime in the first place? Yucky. Her wiki page is also already updated with the whole "hoax" crap she pulled.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), who supports the hate crimes bill, stared in disbelief before answering a question about the statement. "It's just sad the Republican caucus has been reduced to such a fringe," she said. "It's sad they would go out of their way to prevent people from getting justice."

"She should be ashamed," said Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), himself a victim of a hate crime during the civil rights movement of the 1960s. "That is unreal, unbelievable. The law enforcement people and almost every reasonable person I know believes he was murdered because he was gay."

Here's a video of her dumb ass saying the bill is named after matthew (even though the house version doesn't even mention him - nice work, gin):
http://www.huffingtonpost.c...

Go here to send her a nice little message telling her what a moron and vile hateful person she is:
http://www.foxx.house.gov/?...§iontree=3,95

Re: The Queer Class Divide

Gay white men are the majority? Since when? If anything it seems like queer women would be the majority, by default (women have always been the majority - 51% v. 49% - of the world population though still, incredibly, are considered a minority group).

I'm a femme lesbian and I don't hide behind my femininity. Not to say other dykes don't, but I really don't think that's the case for most femmes. It's just that we're invisible because we don't "look" gay, don't fit into silly stereotypes. That's not our fault. We are who we are, we dress the way we want to dress, we're not doing it to avoid judgment from straight people. If anything, it sucks because we're criticized by the queers who DO buy into the whole "you're not really a dyke if you wear makeup and dresses" bullshit. Double discrimination, lame.

It's not gay white men's fault, you're right. White men are privileged. Women, non-white folks, transfolks, poor folks, anyone who is any kind of minority is screwed and has that much less of an opportunity to reach the level of success that gay white men have. That's why they dominate. So they need to step up and make sure that minority groups are heard.

Re: The Queer Class Divide

"One day all your money will be gone, but you will still be just as gay as you were before."

hahaha, and so true.

Re: Thinking About Getting Married!

my partner's brains are so anarcho-hot. if either one of us believed in this marriage crap we would so be blissfully wed. or something like that.

hear, hear. special rights and benefits for folks who get married is such BS. as soon as queeros can all get hitched, let's work to ban marriage altogether. baby steps.

Re: be yr own queero- gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer activism, culture & news:

omg you picked it up and put it on yr fridge, right?

(actually, i have a little "fact" card about the stegosaurus by some christian group on my fridge . got it at the Pickle Festival last year. whatwhat.)

Re: Bark Louder then my Bite in Love

this is so great. i would love to hear yr spoken word live! maybe you can come down for Hero Fest 2009! last day of Hero Fest will be Queero Fest!

Re: be yr own queero- gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer activism, culture & news:

just read your post. really interesting. i'm always amazed by the negative comments people leave on blogs/news sites. insanely bigoted, homo/transphobic, really effed up stuff. stegosaurusg had an idea to create a sort of online 'crew' that would go out into the blogosphere and fill it up with positive, enlightening comments to help offset all the bad juju out there.

Re: Questioning Maleness: Constructing Homosexual Identity

well put.

Re: "Iowa’s Family Values," taken from NY Times

what an excellent article. i want to hear his parents' thoughts on all the recent hubbub.

Re: "Iowa’s Family Values," taken from NY Times

perfection

Re: be yr own queero- gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer activism, culture & news:

oh man i wish that cake were 4 realz.

HAPPY BIRTHGAY!
