This is interesting but you could have got same results by installing a twemproxy on each of your CDS Servers and pointing each of them to the two redis servers (without writing any additional code).

Do you think that has some downside which is avoided by writing this application level consistent hashing implementation?

आशुतोष जी, बात ये नहीं है की कुछ करना नहीं चाहिए - इन्ही रविश कुमार ने शायद सबसे खूबसूरत रिपोर्ट चलायी थी वैज्ञानिकों के पैनल के साथ मंगलयान के लांच पर । समस्या ये है की शायद हमें (मतलब मुझे, आपको और हमसे कहीं ज्यादा इस तंत्र को - राज्य से लेकर केंद्र तक) फर्क पड़ना काम हो गया है | की किसान आत्महत्याएं कर रहे हैं और वहां बैठे बाबु (आई ए एस को भी जोड़ लीजिये) इन नेताओं को समझा देते हैं की वो सब व्यक्तिगत समस्याओं से ग्रस्त थे - और हम मान जाते हैं । समस्या ये है की इन समस्याओं पर कोई सोचना ही नहीं चाहता - शायद किसी को कुछ फर्क पड़ता ही नहीं है । सर्जिकल स्ट्राइक का कोई विरोधी नहीं है । लेकिन उससे बाकी समस्याएं ना ढकिये ।

Thanks - I have just started taking video lectures "learning from data" by Yaser Abu-Mostafa. I will get one of the books in "level up" section or this one to get meaning. Elements of statistical learning is available online but looks very dense for starting.

I want to reciprocate the last comment. It is totally relevant. I am just getting initiated with ML, have got some of the books mentioned in the first section (ML for hackers, Programming collective intelligence) and was looking out for where can I get a book discussing maths of algorithms. Thanks Google for bringing me here. Thanks to you for writing this up!

This comparison list is necessary because of the tendency of people currently to compare only with better country (sometime the best country they know of) in the topic being discussed. So, for development they compare with best developed countries, for petrol prices probably gulf countries, for crime scenario they don't even hesitate in comparing to Dubai forgetting how heinous is the law there..

It's like thinking of a utopian situation by forming a combination of best from around the world.

Great thoughts Mrityunjay! I think you should send a link to this article to siteZ and ask them to manually unsubscribe you in return. Experience is the second most important aspect in any consumer offering I believe - most important being a usable solution to a real problem. This (Experience) is also most neglected piece in many companies - most of which surprisingly forgot to ask themselves "what next?" long back.
