use of mouse with Boxee is sub-optimal. it is really designed for use with a remote (up-down-left-right-select-back), and could also be used with a keyboard.

re the streaming. it should work as well (or as bad) as Firefox. if you'll reach out to me with your system information i'll try to help (avner AT boxee)

I agree that it is not clear enough.

we're in the process of re-designing our registration process, which will make it easier to set up your FB and Twitter accounts.

We plan to enable the user to opt-in to whether he would like to share his watching history, queue and feed. In case the user opts-in to share then an RSS of the items will be made available.

Boxee on Apple TV is challenging. The platform is pretty weak and we can't take advantage of hardware acceleration for playback. There is a limit to our ability to improve the performance on Apple TV.

We hope to address most of the UX issues on our Beta release, so hopefully the only issue with Boxee on Apple TV will be "that it is not as fast as it is on the MacBooK".

sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the early releases. not sure where you tried our latest build (0.9.14.6992), but it solved a bunch of stability issues.

our next major release will be Beta (scheduled for later this fall), and I hope it will address both stability and UX issues you mentioned:

New Home Screen - there is a new Home screen for Boxee in the works, where Shortcuts will be very prominent (so you could have quick access to your favorite shows/apps). There will also be items from your Queue, your friends or 3rd party recommendations that will be part of the home screen.

Queuing items to watch later - as part of our Beta release there will be a Queue that will enable you to add items to it directly from Boxee or via 3rd party apps.

TV Shows and Movies browsing - today it is all over the place in Boxee. in the Beta we'll enable users to search and browse across all different sources, so it will be much easier to get to the content you want.

i also agree regarding passive viewing. i think it is missing in Boxee and other products. not sure we'll be able to tackle it in the Beta, but we have ideas on how to bring that experience into Boxee.

i guess you're running an old version. pls update to the latest from http://app.boxee.tv in case you're on Mac, or run the launcher update and boxee update in case you're on Apple TV.

you have an item on the menubar that is called App Box. you'll see all the available apps when you click on it.

it's a good idea to enable publishers on Vimeo, Blip, etc. to have a few templates they can use to easily create 10-foot experiences around their content

you're right. it is very easy to publish an RSS-feed based content source on boxee, and there is a lot of content that is available to boxee users this way. however, if the content owner wants to create a more rich, branded, immersive experience he can build an app to create this type of custom experience.

it is like having users access your content via RSS reader vs. coming to your site.

you can build a great Blogotheque app for boxee without using any Python. you can grab the RSS feed://vimeo.com/blogothequ... and wrap it with some shiny XML code. take a look at http://developer.boxee.tv/2... as an example.

our ubuntu version is really not up to par with Mac and Windows. we fixed a bunch of stuff for this release, but could not release it today since we came across new issues with audio codecs and memory leaks..

we need to find a better way to work on the Ubuntu build.

LOL doesn't sound like a great venture.

we are not redistributing their content. we have a different browser. try accessing Hulu.com in firefox/IE while you disable images by default. how is that different?

when it comes to playing Internet content boxee is essentially a browser designed for use with a remote.
