You should call (661) 632-5000 to see about Eucharistic Ministry options. Please let me know if I can help!

Re: Ransom the Captive

Taking Eucharist to patients at Mercy Hospital every Saturday morning. It is a beautiful ministry that makes real our prayer to "give us this day our daily bread" - as the patients and their experiences feed and sustain us. Your local hospital chaplain could likely use your help.

Re: The As If Principle: Richard Wiseman Shows How Faking It Actually Helps You Make It

You are awesome! I just looked for it on Blinkist, and it's not there yet?

Re: Android Badly Needs a Successful Tablet

I agree it has been a long time coming, but after CES it looks like they have a few goodies on their hands, finally. Personally, I am waiting for the Moto XOOM; it looks pretty slick.

I am a Kindle owner, too - but its limitations are so many that even though I don't own another tablet, I rarely use it. I think in the long run it will need to be a ~$50 Flip-esque piece of simple hardware. Amazon just doesn't do hardware.

I am jealous of you guys with your iPads! I just can't make the Apple jump...

Re: http://readwithmike.tumblr.com/post/2763505221

Alright, Mike - I am in, too. I found your posts via the YouVersion note sharing feature (pretty cool), when I went there to make a note to dig a bit more into the whole Abram gives his wife to Pharoah and then PHAROAH gets punished... huh? I am doing the same Chrono read in a year, and enjoying it so far.

Thanks for putting all your thoughts out there!

PS - I don't know what kind of music you play, but you are going to have to convince me about the whole new music movement in the church... I am a Catholic and if I have to sing one more Marty Haugen song or one more "On Eagles Wings" I am going to go nuts...

Re: Guns

Don't disagree with alot of what you say - but in 1791 there weren't phones or the internet, so does that mean we should reconsider how we manage free speech?

Re: kindlefeeder.com - RSS and Atom Feed Subscriptions For Your Amazon Kindle

Dan - you are The Man for developing such a useful app; can't wait until Kindle gets wired to open up and really allow for the building of robust features. In the meantime, you have created impressive functionality given constraints (!!).

A general thought/question for future development - any chance you would consider integration with Google Reader? I have seen several apps that use GReader as their source (Feedly, etc) and benefit from its widespread adoption. I am looking for some key features that would come along with that:
1) Read/Unread status and sync globally (so I know what I have read and not read, whether on my PC, mobile, or Kindle)
2) Sharing and commenting ability - one of my primary actions is to share articles I read with friends, or at least to mark an article for my own followup; I notice in these threads that alot of people dislike the "stranded" nature of information on the Kindle. If integrated with GReader, the web interface on the Kindle *might* allow for information flow back and forth (I am not a developer, so I don't know the details) - which would be a HUGE upgrade to the kindlefeeder experience.

Since Google announced that they officially opening an API for Reader, I think you would be getting behind a powerful (and increasingly more powerful) feature set.

One other thought - have you seen the Amazon Daily blog that is auto-delivered from Amazon (you need to sign up for it - it is free)? They have some good navigation features that you may want to copy - I would find them very useful - things like an "articles list" at the click of a single button and navigation to the next article at the click of a single button (the mouse-right click). Great stuff - again, not certain how tough it is to replicate.

Thanks for considering these -
