California is going broke and they are laying off almost 100 Solano County employees. We aren't feeling it. What happened??

Re: Recovery Plan - Bay Area

What happened to the stimulus? We are laying off almost 100 employees in Solano County and the State is broke and plans to take more of our money. Then we'll have to lay off more folks.

Re: PAYGO

Help people stay in their homes and stop the foreclosures.
Then healthcare

Re: Join Obama’s Health Care Discussion

Any plan that meets the following goals:
Maintains administrative costs through a single payer system.
Universal coverage for all.
Families should not have to go into debt or go bankrupt in order to care for the health of a loved one.

Re: Economic Recovery

What happened to help for stopping foreclosures and keep families in their homes. Why don't we use some bail out money to refi homes at the current interest rate, even if the value isn't there, but the income is? I'd like to keep home values up. I've already lost over $200,000 in a year. A tax cut or rebate of $1000 isn't really going to help. I'd rather have the money used for job creation or home loans.

I didn't see anything mentioned in the plan about helping homeowners.

Re: Economic Recovery

What are we doing to stop further foreclosures. We have got to stop the bleeding. I had written you about a loan program where a homeowner could refinance at the current interest rate, regardless of home value, but only if they had the income to afford the newly adjusted mortgage payment. I never heard if that is an idea that is being considered. Please advise.

I would rather NOT have a tax cut, if we can help those facing foreclosure keep their homes. More foreclosures mean more houses on the market at cut rate costs, which lowers the value of all of our property. My home dropped $204,000 in just over one year. A $1000 tax break is not going to help me regain that loss.

Also, I would rather we use funds to create jobs rather than give me a tax break. And businesses don't need tax breaks right now. Businesses can't sell their products to non existent customers, so a tax break for them is not going to give us the biggest bang for our buck. Explain how that works in this economy.

Thanks for continuing to do your best during these extremely challenging times.
