When my 'season' started, Roschelle, I was 40 and thought I was pregnant. Oh the joy to find out it was this! All I suffered was the night sweats, but that's difficult enough. When I got to the other side about three years later, it was glorious freedom into a new passage of life. It's a good passage, and part of our journey as women. So hold on, my friend. It does get better!

It is unconscionable for people to make such wretched comments in the face of such disasters that have befallen Japan. My heart cries with all those impacted with such loss and the foreboding that now issues from nuclear power plants. God be with them all.

What an excellent post, Roschelle! You touched on so many issues and in all of them, common sense, as you aptly stated has been lost. People ask where our moral compass has gone, then run straight to a frivolous lawsuit attorney for the slightest infraction. My husband said to me the other day that the world has turned upside down. I think he is right.

Roschelle, what this man said to you is unfortunately indicative of the lack of knowledge so many people have about today's issues. And they vote that way! It can be so frustrating, especially in the blogosphere. I expect folks to disagree sometimes, but once in a while there will be dissent on our blog or elsewhere and the dialog stops. You can't rationalize with irrational people. I do think they have good intentions, but would it hurt to read a newspaper or watch an informative TV news program? It's a little frightening. I feel your pain!

Roschelle, I don't see any offense in Beyonce essentially posing for a role as Fela Kuti in a photo shoot. It is not as though she is doing what the other stars have done in their imitation of "Barbie" life. These women all have natural beauty. What a shame they don't see it. and for the record, I never let my daughter play with Barbie dolls. I did not want her to believe she had to grow up looking like that to please anyone!

Roschelle, I would not like this either! Once during one of my pregnancies, I was still working and another teacher (male) just came up to me and rubbed my very extended tummy. I was too incensed to say anything, but left for my maternity leave the next day and never went back. People can be ridiculous! Oh---I love the cartoon too!

Wow, what a thoughtful list, Roschelle! I should copy it and post it in my office. It really is the simple things in life that make us happy, isn't it? I just burned a CD for my daughter so I can give it to her tomorrow when we visit. Can you believe she loves my taste in music, which is primarily Blues. What a dichotomy. Things that make us happy...and mine would be the Blues! Go figure.

You are the ultimate entrepreneur, RE. I am so happy for you! But I want to be able to taste some of those goodies too. Have you thought about selling baskets on the Internet? Those jams would go over great, I'm sure. There is a place here that makes homemade gobs with caramel and other types. She sells them on the net for eighty-nine cents a piece plus shipping and can hardly keep up with the orders. Think about the holidays and get that jam ready.

I actually think it is too late to put this rabbit back in the hole. Not only is government spying, sometimes for righteous reasons like terrorism, but common folk are spying. High tech is readily available to all. The world has become an equal opportunity spy ring. I stay in my house....a lot.
