I think this is an interesting topic. I have read both good and bad about these machines. The good is that that it grabs the customers’ attention and gets them to interact with the machine; however, some feel that this may be an invasion of privacy. I can see both sides but I am leaning more towards the good. I think that these machines are very interesting and I would love to try one out. I want to see how accurate they are. I like that they interact because it makes you feel like you are not just purchasing the soda but also the experience.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: How to Supercharge Your Social Media Presence With Online Surveys

Thanks for the great advice. Knowing your audience is key in marketing. They are the ones that are going to purchase your goods or service. If you don't take the time to get to know what their wants or needs are you're just wasting time and money. Creating a poll is a great idea and social media is what’s hot right now. Posting your poll on different sites like Facebook and Twitter will go viral and allows you to narrow down your reach to a specific group. This encourages your audience to give feedback and interact with your company. By allowing your audience to comment on what they like or dislike you will position your brand in the viewers' mind.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Call Your Facebook Friends for Free From Your Android or iOS Device

Very cool. Social media and technology are progressing each day. I like the idea of being able to call your Facebook friends but I also think that this may invade some personal space. I understand that both sides of the call must have the app but calling Facebook friends through wireless sounds like a little too much. However, I do like the idea of setting your caller id to your profile picture and status. I know that some phones already have the ability to upload profile pictures as your caller id but they have not gone as far as to call your Facebook friend. Facebook is really taking over. From chat to calling what else will Facebook bring?

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: AT&T Launches QR Code Scanning App for BlackBerry and Android

I have recently noticed that QR, quick response, codes have exploded all over the internet. Everyday I go online I see at least one article on QR codes; however, this is the first article I've read dealing with creating a code. The popularity of these codes is cool because I think it is a great way to broaden the use of technology and advertisements. I can't wait to try this app out. It's apps like these that make me want to go out and buy a smartphone. I love the idea of adding these codes to business cards, but that means that the clients receiving the card must also have the app. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for advertisements using these codes.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Cover Letters: To Send or Not to Send, This is the Question

I believe that you should include a cover letter. It gives a more professional appearance. It also shows that you took the time to personalize each cover letter to the individual company rather than a mass print of your resume. I feel that a cover letter gives the company a better taste of who you are as an individual. Rather than just sending a resume that looks like everyone other one, you should attach a resume that shows off your personality. It allows you the opportunity to stand out from the crowd and show the other side of you. A resume shows what you have accomplished but a cover letter shows you as an individual.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: QR Codes Used to Help Clean Up the Gulf

This is very cool. I have noticed that more and more companies are incorporating QR, quick response, bar codes in their ad campaigns. I love the idea of this code. Take a picture and it sends you to a web site, very creative and a great way to encourage customer interaction and retention. People walking by are probably curious about what the code is and try it not knowing what to expect. Once they are at the site they gain exposure to the brand. Technology is improving everyday! I think that this technique is very effective and can't wait to see more of them around the Bay Area. I would love to try one of these QR codes out.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Barcodes As Media Channel: Food52 Recipes On Stickybits

I love this idea. Getting started is always the hardest part for me; however, these steps will definitely make it quick and easier to write a blog. My favorite part of the post is to write the headline. Creating a headline bank is a great idea. It'll be useful under a time crunch. One thing I always keep in mind is quality over quantity. I know there can be a lot of pressure if you don't produce a blog everyday but what about quality? Even if you post daily, readers will only care if there’s information that is important to them. A quick blurb is not going to win anyone over. I am always worried that I will come off as self absorbed when I am in an interview. No one wants to come off as that but you make a great point. You are trying to show them what you can do. It's not showing off, it's telling the truth. Just make sure that you don't extend the truth to what the company wants to hear. Do not stretch the truth at all in an interview or on a resume. They want to know what you can do. When they find out, after they hire you, that you lied on your resume/ interview they will be disappointment that you lied to get a job. It’s better to tell the truth than say you can do something you really can’t. Lying is just a waste of time and money. Sell yourself but be truthful.
-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Your Resume: How Original is Too Original?

Thankfully in advertising you are allowed to be creative. I love the fact that you get to show your personality and creativity when you hand in your resume and cover letter. Don't get me wrong though...there is always a limit. All though the guidelines are a little more lenient in advertising there are limits. You still want to come off professional and responsible. However, have some fun with your resume. Try new layouts etc to stand out from the crowd. You are trying to sell yourself and you don't want to be just like everyone else. Find something that makes you unique and go with that. You want to be a unique individual and not just another person. Just keep in mind what position you are going for. Research the company that you want to turn your resume into and make a judgment of what is appropriate and what is going a little too far. You want to stand out but not risk an interview.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: How the Internet is Affecting Traditional Journalism [SURVEY]

This is an interesting article. A few weeks ago my supervisor and I were having a discussion about traditional journalism and the internet. With the internet becoming more relied on, traditional journalism may slowly disappear. However, I don't believe that it will disappear all together. Radio, print and television are huge media outlets that will always be in existence. There may be fewer of these traditional media outlets but I believe that they will survive any new media creations. There are always new creations trying to compete, either in media, fashion, etc, but the reliable ones will survive. The internet is becoming more powerful and with social media and blogging becoming more popular I feel that readers will soon turn to blog updates for their news outlets. It’s scary to think that some of these bloggers may take the jobs of professional journalists.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Why NOW is the Best Time to Write Your Resume | Career Rocketeer - Career Search and Personal Branding Blog

I know when I panic/ rush I tend to forget things. Keeping a running tally of all your accomplishments is a great idea. I tend to keep lists everywhere I go. I hate forgetting things. Keeping notes is a great way to remind yourself. They don't have to be exact but little keywords will help jog your mind when you're sitting in front of the computer trying to remember what you have accomplished in the past. It's a crazy idea but it shows that social media is becoming more and more powerful. Although it may seem cool to have this "celebrity" personalize a message to you I would prefer my boyfriend to propose himself. Like many thought...it doesn't seem real if your proposal is broadcast all over the social media world. However, this does prove that social media is the place to be. I was a little late on the whole Facebook/ Twitter thing, but now that I have both I can't imagine what life would be like without them. All of these are very helpful. I am in the middle of a summer internship, but before I started I was extremely nervous to go into the office. I was afraid to make a single mistake. Through my experience so far I feel that showing your boss you are serious is the most important factor. Make sure that the two of you are on the same page. You don't want to find something out when it's too late. Asking questions is important. I know I was scared to ask questions at first because I didn't want to seem like I wasn't paying attention or unqualified, but it’s good to ask questions to show that you want to learn. Another important tip is to take on projects. If your boss doesn't give you any projects to do ask if there is anything you can help with. This will show leadership skills.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: MTV to Develop Social Games Based on Shows and Characters

I think that acquiring social games is a good idea because it entices people to come visit your site and play the games. They may not realize it at the time but once they're on the site they are exposed to all the marketing and advertisements. This is great for advertisers. Like the article said, the longer a viewer is on a site the more opportunities an advertiser/ marketer has. The more views the better. Farmville and Mafia Wars are huge right now and with MTV using already known characters they can grab the attention of viewers that would have never visited the site before. It's a great way for the viewer to interact with the site and others as well.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: Video is SO Powerful as a Motivator

I have noticed that video is becoming huge on the web. It is good to give your eyes a rest from reading and let them watch a video now and then. Not only does it give you a break from the small font but it also catches your attention. I find that when I read from the computer screen my eyes get really tired. I like the option of watching a video because it not only grabs my attention but the information also sticks in my mind. The message gets across faster with video most of the time as well. If there is an article with an interesting title but is extremely long I usually read half and then am bored. By the time the point is announced I have already switched to a different site. By providing both video and copy it allows viewers to have more options for their preference.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: 3 Simple Ways to Repurpose Your Blog Posts for More Exposure

Thanks for the great tips. I have noticed that podcasts are becoming more popular. People are always on the go and it is easier for many to just download the podcast and listen to it on their iPod rather than download the article and read it on their computer. Having different options is good for followers because everyone has different preferences. Some learn better viewing content and some prefer audio. I found it to be humorous yet truthful. I know when I go into an interview I am nervous but I try to take a few breaths before I go into the meeting. I also tend to smile to relieve some of the stress. I try to remind myself that I got this far so there must be some interest in me. I avoid thinking negative or else I find that my entire mood is down. I feel that in advertising you are allowed to show your personality rather than be strictly by the book. I am fortunate enough to be allowed to be creative and have some fun in a stressful situation. I will admit that I love visiting Perez Hilton's blog but I especially like blogs that give helpful tips. I am the type of person who is attracted to tips on how to do things. Grabbing your reader's attention early is very important because if they lose interest you lose a reader. You don't have much leeway to do this so keep things short, simple and interesting. Great advice about informing your reference about the position you are applying for. It would help a lot if the previous employer knew what exactly your intended goals are. That way, the employer can focus on attributes that fit your position. I would never have thought that if the reference said you were a hard worker, etc it would seem like you were just like everyone else. Always try to stand out from the crowd like in advertising. You want to stand out from the clutter or else your message will get lost. Sell yourself. Thanks for the great advice.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: New App Color-Codes and Filters Your Tweets

This is a great tool. Not only is the deck appealing to the eye, it also helps color organize what could be overwhelming. Even though TweetDeck does help keep things organized, color coordinating keywords and people would be so much easier. I would love to try this app out and see how it works. I am a fan of TweetDeck because it is very useful to organize people and tweets and by adding color is it is yet another useful tool. I am interested in design which is also a plus for the eye popping element.

-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com

Re: How to Create a Custom Twitter Background Design

Thanks for the great tips. I love going out and personalizing my things. I have changed my Twitter account to different colors but I am excited to go further and add pictures and have the ability to design the layout. With social networking becoming more and more popular I think it is very important to sell yourself. Show everyone who you are. Don't just limit yourself to a name and some text. Add some color and personality where it is relevant. Express yourself. I love having the opportunity to go out, be creative and design new layouts.
-CKR Interactive Intern
www.ckrinteractive.com
