@Tyler - That has been a big part of our business and since we are young we can be available almost 24/7 for our users. Obviously we will have to make some modifications as we scale our product, but we will always greatly value our users feedback and will figure out an effective way for them to get ahold of us.

Miles, that is correct, the CPM's are only a few cents for each text message ad. Since our beta launch in late 2007 we have done over 25 million text messages and we are growing at an extremely high rate right now. Any other questions/comments please post.

Hey, thanks for the great comments, glad you are liking the service! Yea, the feature that allows a group leader the ability to send a group text message from their own mobile phone is perfect for when you aren't by your computer. Glad you are utilizing that feature!

Great point! The signature above is my cold call email signature. When you are doing back and forth emails, I agree that you should use a reduced signature, usually something like the following...

I think in your industry a link to a portfolio is a great idea, it lets your source know what type of a writer you are. Anything that can give someone a little insight into who you are as a person is positive. Regarding your blog and twitter, I'm of the mind that it's not promotion but more of a way for your source to connect with you on a personal level. Who knows, if they feel like they know you personally, they may be more open as a source when your talking to them.

That's a little hard with a name like "Derek Johnson" but I'm working on it! Who doesn't Google someone before a meeting, date etc. I think though facebook and LinkedIn are starting to replace Google in terms of initial searches for people.

Yea, you are completely correct! I think it's more about getting the first thing right and then expanding on that. If you can prove out a concept really quickly and multiple, that is amazing, but for the most part, it takes awhile. Thanks for your comment, greatly appreciated!

I think what you are talking about is more of a product of their their ability to build a solid brand. I was actually in Texas at a Seattle's Best Coffee store and someone on their cell phone was saying, "yea, I'm at Starbucks right now". You know you have a solid brand when a product like coffee is linked directly to your company name, hence Starbucks.

I find most business owners have the hardest time going from one to two. Wether this be the second employe or the second store, this is the most challenging barrier to expanding. I think it can help though, if you are able to master the first thing (ie. Starbucks), but the problem is I see to many people not have enough confidence to move to number 2.
