My age and the CEO of a company I'm involved with. I wasn't expecting it now, but at some point in the next few years and I too am still processing it. I was numb about it yesterday but today am feeling it. Watched Sully last night also...yet another great reminder that we never know when our time is up.

Re: Introducing Our New Partner – Chris Moody

boom! this is amazing news. excited for all of you!

Re: Techstars - Was it Worth It?

love it! #givefirst

Re: Email Conventions and Why Email Clients Suck

such a messed up tradeoff between Inbox and Gmail right now. Inbox has the + convention which I use daily and the bundling which is really helpful for workflow, but lacks plugin support and lots of other features. Gmail is getting slower and slower and is behind on features. C'mon!

Re:

It can be super frustrating as an entrepreneur who feels like they are doing everything right and still getting a lot of NOs or investors dragging their feet when you don't understand why and don't get honest feedback about it.

There does also have to be a "match", the right investors who share the vision and excitement with the right team/product/market. Over the long haul, you don't want just $$, you want a supportive and engaged relationship!

Another way to think about this is that it only takes one NO, but a dozen YESs. Help investors get to YES, and your rounds will come together faster.

Re: Introducing FG Press

Exciting news! The debt belongs to the company (or at least it should). I've seen situations where the team shuts down operations when they know its not going to work and they return remaining capital to the investors, and I've seen shutdowns when the cash is all gone. The debt holders sometimes just write it off and move on, and sometimes get involved and try to create some kind of return on remaining assets.

Re: Create Structure out of the Gate andYou’ll Thank Yourself Later

Scott - agree that it could have happened even with a board, but I'd submit that if the company had been using the board well and was fully engaged that a few of the key mis-steps would have been caught earlier or potentially avoided.
