This is a new capability to use the lock screen camera "button" which lets you open the app more quickly and not requiring the phone to be unlocked, vs a widget which is basically just a shortcut to the app and goes through the phone unlock, launch app procedure vs a faster "open small version of app really fast without being authenticated" version. So kinda "news" in the way that most of PP is just taking a random tweet that's vaguely photography related and turning it into a story...

I think there's a difference both in speed and in requirement to be unlocked between launching the app from a widget (basically it's just a shortcut that opens the app in the phone) vs the built in lock screen buttons (insta-launches without need to be unlocked (puts it in some sort of lower security mode or something I think) and the app is somehow always kinda running (or feels like it)).

Except they did, literally, build this. There is ChatGPT integration only at the users request and all the core “Apple intelligence” stuff is theirs. The keynote has lots of information about what they did and didn’t do.

Gonna echo the people here. I'd almost rather be not with the guests.

* You're making forced interaction with people you don't know who are there to hang out with family and friends, not some random vendor
* I want to get dinner done and over with so I can start setting up and prepping for the speeches / dancing
* If I get my dinner early (which I try to do) it messes up the "pick a table number from a hat" BS that some people use to figure out who goes first if I'm at a table of people wolfing down food and the rest of the people haven't gotten any yet.

* After a day of being "on" I want some quiet time to myself to just sit and relax before the rest of the day

* Quiet time to recharge batteries, swap / backup cards, etc

I don't want to be jammed in the back of a closet, but put in on the side or in the kitchen or with other vendors.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a neat idea to draw people in. Describe your dream vacation and upload a selfie and we'll generate a photo of you and make you even more excited about buying a lottery ticket. Just the super modern version of those big signs with a cutout you put your head through and take a photo. If it worked properly of course, this seems like it's a bit off the rails.

I've watched a couple of videos from food photographers and they said that legally they *had* to use the same ingredients in the same proportions that were used in the actual food. Obviously they choose the best looking lettuce, and the onions are going to be "pretty", and the cheese is heated on the edges after the fact so it droops properly. There are also tricks like pushing everything forward in between the buns so they pop out more (you can see in the photo the bun slants down in the back).

That said, there's a LOT of difference between what you see and what you get in this case, but as others have said, that's pretty much the case in every fast food promo photo vs reality ever...

Epson has the V600 (or V700, I forget which) which has negative, slide, and large format negative scanning and works very well. I’ve been using it (plus the SilverFast suite of software) to scan in my archives of old negatives and slides.

It is strange that when you do an edit in the 'device' tab it doesn't show in the same tab and you have to move over to the Lightroom tab to see the edited photo.. you'd think the edits would show on that image no matter where it's shown in the LRm app.

LR and Photos will have different image "engines" so it makes sense that the changes don't show up in the Photos app itself. Maybe the idea is they are keeping the device tab "pure" to show you the same thing that the photos app will see.

The import into LRC I guess make sense as it probably knows the image your editing and is using the already imported one because it knows it by a unique identifier.

It's an interesting feature for sure, a nice compromise between importing everything into LRm and having all your random snapshots in the 'imported by lightroom mobile' collection in LR or having to dig for the photo, import it, etc.

Will be interesting to see how this works out for people in practice though.

If you look too hard. But if you're scrolling twitter on your phone, are already primed to believe it's going to / has happened, etc, and you'll get that initial pop of believe. Hell these days that's enough for a person to quickly hit the retweet or share button to send it off to your own network of people who are also already primed to believe it.

Anyone viewing large or zooming in would (hopefully) not believe it. Course these days...
