Here goes my predicition for the starting 11.

Fabianski
Sagna-G.Hoyte-Djourou-Gibbs
Wilshere-Ramsey-Song-Merida
Bendtner-Vela

Last year we played with Diarra and, sometimes, Gilberto in midfield to add some steel and experience to the very important middle of our youthful side and I don't see why that should change. Wenger knows that Sheffield will put up a fight, so my guess is Song, seeing as the sort of fight that Sheffield will put up is most likely a physical one. Denilson has earned himself a rest in my opinion.

I don't think the fullbacks will be so inexperienced either because, other than Gibbs, we don't have any young players available that can provide the needed quality, seeing as both Traoré and Botelho are out on loan. But I do think we can count on starts for Ramsey, Wilshere, Bendtner and Vela though. Hopefully Fran Merida too, he's always one of the bright spots in the reserve games and Wenger doesn't throw compliments like "he's absolutely amazing" around too often.

But, like the rest of you, I'm uncertain. All I'm certain of is that this will probably be very fun to watch.

Re: Bolton v Arsenal Team News: Bendtner & Eboue Handed Starts

Wenger is probably thinking that Denilson won't be an actual winger, instead he will come inside to make it hard for Bolton and make us win the middle while he leaves the entire left flank for Clichy to run at. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's never been a DM we need (first of all we don't even use a DM when we play), we need wingers since Hleb left.

Good to see some rotating though, there's been alot of matches and even more travelling recently. Liverpool looked very bleak against an even bleaker Stoke so let's win and take over the driving seat in the Premier League! 0-2 to the Arsenal!

Re: Match Report: Dinamo Kyiv 1-1 Arsenal

It definitely wasn't a penalty. Sagna touches him (like every defender does at least 5 times per game), but the Kyiv player doesn't even try to go for the ball, instead he goes downwards immediately and actually lands on his back meaning that he did a 180 degree fall á la Ronaldo thus looking for the referee even before he hit the ground.

Should've been 2-0 up in half time. Wenger did the right choice with his 4-5-1 formation seeing as Kyiv didn't create a single chance in the first half while we created 3-4 good goalscoring opportunities that normally would've materialized. A combination of bad finishing and the referee made us draw, in my opinion. 1-1 away to Kyiv is not a bad result at all though.

Re: Match Preview: Dynamo Kyiv v Arsenal (Champions League)

Wouldn't surprise me to see Bendtner handed a start here, considering RvP's recently tough schedule. Perhaps Walcott could do with a rest too, but there's no real cover for the wings now that Rosicky and Nasri is out, Wenger might even let him continue his ride on the wave that is his current confidence. How far away from a place in the starting eleven - for this game, I mean - are Song and Vela? Predicting the lineup is very tricky for this game, but I'm confident we'll pass with relative ease. Kyiv is not what they once were.

Re: Promoting From Within: The Reason We’ll Always Be Here

Well, Goonerinexile, Fabregas is not the problem, or the solution, depending on how you look at it. Arsenal played brilliantly against Real Madrid in the Emirates cup without him. Everyone sucked against Fulham, not just Denilson, and who hasn't had bad games while learning? Fabregas had too. What makes you think Denilson will play more games like that against Fulham? That was just an exception in my opinion.

Squad depth could be a problem, yes. But that's why January is there. =]

Re: Promoting From Within: The Reason We’ll Always Be Here

I didn't mean that they will be forced into selling their players this year or next, but if they don't do something about their debts they (at least Man U&Chelski when Roman leaves them - the money is a loan, not a gift) WILL become the new Leeds and then sell their players.

Regarding the Emirates stadium debt, you don't really think that Wenger and the Arsenal Board thought that they'd finance the stadium by selling players? Like walking into the bank saying: "Hi, we'd like a multimillion pound loan to build the most modern football stadium in the world. We don't have any money so we'll have to sell our players every year - even though we are a football club that needs its best players to survive and make money - to pay you back, hope that's alright?"

Re: Match Report: Blackburn 0-4 Arsenal

Ramsey and Wilshere slotted perfectly right into the side, like their substitutions didn't lower the overall quality of the team one bit. That's impressive, that's depth.

I wonder how important they will be this season. Probably Carling Cup regulars both of them. Is it just me or does our CC-11 look stronger, and younger, than ever?

Re: Wenger - The Antithesis Of Evil As Yet Another One Bites The Dust

That would be us generating our own money without being taken over by a rich outsider with no connection to the club.
