I LOVED this episode. One of the few times Walking Dead has made a talking-centric episode pretty enthralling.

My biggest problem was the one major plot hole: Where did Maggie 2.0 disappear to? One minute she's interrogating Maggie, and the next minute she's nowhere to be found. She doesn't even go to reunite with the rest of her group.

AV Club is very generous to this show for some reason. I still hate-watch it, mostly because it's fun to laugh at and make fun of.

I keep saying AV Club grades this show on a curve. A B+ for this schlock is laughable. C+ is more like it. Acceptable, but nothing noteworthy.

Rick couldn't have played that situation any worse. And what is up with his line to Jesse that he'd only do it for her. Not only does that run contrary to everything we know about Rick, but it doesn't even sound like the answer she wants. I'd imagine that she doesn't want him to do it out of pure feelings - of which she's aware - but because he's simply a good man, unlike her husband.

While there were good moments in this episode (anything with Glenn or Carl), this episode is another prime example of how this show will just force characters to do things for the sake of moving plot that seem to make no sense, either from a character or narrative perspective.

Random comment...I can't believe this show has salvaged Murphy. I hated the kid with the passion of a thousand suns in season 1, but he's grown on me.

I really have no POV on the sexuality stuff, but I've started to tell EVERYONE who is as tired of TWD to shift their focus to The 100. A far superior show IMO

I loved it...but I kind of wish Bellamy died. Don't get me wrong. Bellamy is awesome. But it kind of undercut the methodical nature of the plan if - after all that - it came down to a spontaneous decision to explode the room in order to neutralize it.

I also have a hard time believing that there's enough acid fog to kill everything and anything within a large perimeter area of Mount Weather, but not enough to blow through the vent and fill that room Bellamy falls into.

This is a show that killed 300 people last season, crashed a getaway ship, and killed Finn recently. Bellamy would've been just another casualty. I'd hate for the show to start pulling punches just to satisfy fans.

And yes, I'm aware this will be a very unpopular opinion haha. I'm not saying it "should" have happened, but I wouldn't have minded. It would've fit into The 100's almost ruthlessly realistic world in which sometimes people just HAVE to die.

I would've liked if Abby died. It would've added more weight to Clarke's decision. It wouldn't be the first time the show has killed major characters rather abruptly.

How is Tyreese's death the result of a death with when he

1) Tells Noah that you have to keep fighting even when everything is bleak
2) looks utterly surprised by it when it happens

3) Fights off the last zombie (even if he does offer up his arm for a second chomp). Why not just let the zombie eat him at that point?

I'm amazed at the lack of progression in the show. You'd think that 2 years into the zombie apocalypse at least one person in the group would develop into a heartless prick who takes death for what it is: expected. Instead the show is just everyone moping around until the next death where they get a chance to mope so more. No one knows what to do and the show has no idea where to go.

The episode title is fitting "What happened and what's going on?"

Gus' dialogue is so bad it would be offensive if the show weren't produced by a prominent Mexican filmmaker. How the hell do lines like that get into a Mexican director's show. I know he's not actually directing this schlock, but still...

Agree to disagree then, because I also agree that it's really really really bad. I stuck it out for the rest of the season, but I can't see myself having the patience for a second.

It's so so so so bad. The number of dumb things in this finale is unreal.

First, its "characters" are absolutely moronic in nearly every conceivable way. Just two episodes ago, Set was so hellbent on finishing off The Master that he nearly stormed into a room filled with thousands of vamps. In this episode? He monologues as The Master writhes in pain rather than going up to him at a moment of weakness and removing his head - the way he has done all season to even the least threatening of baddies.

Sadly, that's not even the worst of the stupidity

- Let's waste dynamite on a bunch of useless vamps when they apparently could have run right past them as they did moments later.

- The Master can control his minions to the extent that he can have them retreat, but he doesn't call for any of them to help him out when he's getting whipped by sunlight.

- Speaking of which, sunlight doesn't kill him but apparently even slight streaks of the stuff can almost fully disable him (as was happening when they were breaking the windows).

- The vampire SWAT team singles out Gus, who up to the point of his capture had killed about a grand total of 5 vampires, but doesn't seek to enlist the help of Sektrarian who has been single-handidly hunting The Master for several decades and is currently doing the thing they want Gus to do (hunt in the daylight) with a fully armed team.

- The decision to bring Zach to the Master hunt because of a thin analogy to Argentina.

- The logic that despite the largest city in the country going through a communications breakdown and descent into martial law, the Director of Health and Human Services is the primary decision-maker on government intervention into seemingly non-health related public breakdowns.

- Anything and everything the CDC does.

- Similarly, every decision Eph ever makes.

The level of stupidity on this show is near historic levels.

Ironically, the phrase "incredibly poorly written" is poorly written...

I do, however, agree with you for the most part. There is a bit of shortsightedness to the premise. While there are certainly kids who are addicted to iPads, they also are drawn to imaginary play because of the nature of youth. I have 3-year-old nephew that can open my phone, download an app, and play it. It's astounding. But there are times where he just loves to run around with a ball.

Just because there is a flashier alternative doesn't mean that it will become the sole focus of a generation. I grew up during the video game era, and while I spent a lot time playing my games, I also spent a lot of time in the backyard with a basketball and on the living room carpet with my action figures. Based on the premise in the article, I should've ditched all of those activities in favor of my Super Nintendo...but I didn't. Was the SNES superior to my imagination? I suppose, but I still chose my imagination from time to time.
