Otherwise being helpful is only draining energy.

But if you are authentic (and actually I do think you are) it gives energy because it is something you really want. And not because of some hidden reason like praise, recognision, guilt, money, reciprocity, insecurity and so on. That is, if those reasons are hidden or unknown to yourself. If those reasons are clear, it is just part of the authenticity. At least that is how I see it at this point.

Re: http://spenceinthecity.tumblr.com/post/6679907277

Really good post and I am stunned by the insight of someone of your age.

Re: Halfway Through The Blogathon

Great to read about your blogathon. I did something like that last year (NaBloPoMo) and it was a really good experience. Especially what you said about experimenting and if it does not work, there is always a tomorrow.

After that, I called blogging an ongoing flow of manifested thoughts. At least that is how it feels for me.

Re: Pursue the Goal Not the Method

I guess it depend if the method is something we are taught or a skill we improved ourself.

With the first I agree, because in itself it is useless if we never reach the goal.

But if the method is a skill, we can improve or alter it. Which might make it even more important then the goal.

Because the method (improved or altered) might be useful for many other goals to come.

Re: Platform and Community First – Overnight Success

"A big giant campfire to gather around."

I love that metaphore. They indeed reflect the fall perfectly. Those colours are what I like most about the fall I guess.

Re: 14 Things To Do After Starting A New WordPress Site

Now I remember again where I read how to get the numbers and question mark out of my urls.

Thank you for that!

Re: How To Use Images To Present Your Content Better

I agree, I totally love to see photos on blogs, especially if they are perfectly integrated with the text.
But personally I have been struggling with that, I never get a photo there where I want it without messing up my text. And I usually end up getting them all out. Maybe I should just keep it with one at the time.
So all the more I like blogposts that do have photos, especially if the colours go well with the theme.

Re: How Twitter Was Born

Yes, addictive is exactly the way to put it. I just love the speed and the format. And above all I like, what someone said here before, the beauty of its simplicity.
