I like the changes you are making to simplify the new install process. I am working on finishing a video showing the River4/S3/Heroku setup process, but will go back to my earlier video on local Windows installs (http://andysylvester.com/20... at some point to pick up your changes.

Re: A new EC2 for Poets

I developed a set of functions analogous to the River4 filesystem functions you created, but accessing Dropbox instead of the local filesystem. I then created a Dropbox app for River4 to interact with. I then copying the river files from Dropbox to a shared hosting account using a script called Dropbox-Uploader (https://github.com/andreafa.... The results are at http://rivers.andysylvester....

If you would be interested, I could send you a copy of the code. I could also submit a pull request at some point, but I have it implemented in an older version of River4, and would want to first move my changes to the latest River4 version. Let me know...

Re: A new EC2 for Poets

I like the idea of using Dropbox to upload files. I am running a modified version of River4 using Dropbox for storage instead of S3. It makes it really easy to edit an OPML file in Fargo and then just copy the file over to Dropbox to add a new feed.

I am interested in being a tester whenever the image is ready!

Re: Getting started with Radio3

Dave,

Your new tool is working great for me on Google Chrome for Windows! I guess what threw me off was that the second level headline was also given a permalink in addition to the top level headline (License/background issues headline, for example).

Re: HowTo: How to use the HowTo Tool

I have added some content to my Hello World page, and I noticed that the outline rendering was a little different than I expected. I saw that a third level headline did not get indented (I thought that the second level heading would fall below the first level heading - and it does - and that the third level heading would then be indented). I assume this is part of the renderer built into the tool.

Two thoughts I have so far are:
1. How easy is to use another function to perform rendering?
2. A feature that I think would be neat is to have a table of contents generated from the section headings, like on multisection Wikipedia pages (for example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wik....

I'll keep posting more ideas as I get them.

Re: HowTo: How to use the HowTo Tool

Dave, thanks for the quick update, I was able to install it this time and it works with my Identica account:

http://howto.opml.org/andys...

I have some ideas for updating some of the docs on the OPML Editor site, do you mind if I put some notes up on my HowTo Tool page?

Re: HowTo: How to use the HowTo Tool

I downloaded the HowTo Tool from the Tool Catalog this evening to try it out. I got a dialog box asking me if I wanted to install the tool, and I clicked the OK button. I then got a OPML Editor script dialog box with the following text:

"Can't call the script because the name "podcatcherSuite" hasn't been defined."

I then clicked on the Go To button, and the #installer.onInstall window opened up. The cursor was positioned at the end of a line with the text "podcatcherSuite.init ()".

I confirmed that I have a file called "howto.root" in my Tools folder. I then looked at the howTo.root table in the OPML Editor and confirmed that the #installer table contains a script called onInstall, which is trying to call stuff for the podcatcher Tool. I do not have this Tool installed.

Can this be corrected? I would like to try out the HowTo Tool.

Re: HowTo: Adding permalinks to prefs pages, 8/3/08

Thanks for the offer, I think I will keep it on my weblog for now.
