That is, only 0.085% of the population.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So the other 99.15% of us have to put up with reduced picture size and the distraction of a signing person on the right hand side of the screen, at certain times on the digital BBC News channel.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Optionlly, deaf people may press a single button to have subtitles.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I wonder how much of our tv licence money is spent annually to provide the sign language for those 0.085% and how many of them are actually watching?&lt;/p&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">andymaslin</dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 15 Jul 2009 10:15:29 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
