Text "resist" to 50409 or go to http://resistbot.io/ to learn more.

ResistBot will have a conversation with you over SMS, FB, Telegram etc and then turn it into faxes, letters and emails to your elected representatives.

Re: PRPL Blog

you have a syntax error in gifn-feed.html on line 45 because of an extra backtick.

Re: Setting Go variables from the outside

we do that too so that we can go back and branch off that commit for a hotfix later!

Re: LTE in the WiFi Spectrum

The value in licensed spectrum is FCC enforcement (stiff civil and criminal penalties) when people infringe on it or interfere with it. First, we found ways to virtualize entire machines, then containers and now with AWS Lambda you can dynamically execute individual functions. It's amazing to see a report showing how many milliseconds of execution time you will be billed for.

Re: Code Execution: Where Are the Clouds Headed?

Technology that protects the data at rest, like what we're building at Ionic Security, goes a long way to make these platforms safer to use.

Re: Sprint to sunset Clearwire’s WiMax network late next year

Nov 2015 is 180 days away?

Re: On Anonymous Apps | Force of Good

So, ironically enough, most of my discussions around Yik Yak have been on Rumr (http://rumrapp.com/) but that's mostly due to random circumstance. At least on Rumr you can see who is in the room, even if you don't know who said a particular thing.

I downloaded Yik Yak after our discussion and opened it. Then I closed it and un-installed it. I see no reason it should exist in this form. One person in our Rumr room said it was "the digital equivalent of gas station bathroom wall".

As a parent of a 14yr old girl, the damage that can be done by handing out this type of digital megaphone is horrifying. I can't believe this application is still available after all that's happened since this app launched.

Also, having tried to start a company that worked to help developers comply with the law (COPPA) and help parents protect their children in online environments, it shocks me how blatantly some applications just ignore the law entirely. Yik Yak, Watt Pad and others simply allow someone to install an application, create a handle or identity and begin submitting content. None of them have any controls for age verification, parental consent or abuse management. None of them prevent a young child from sharing identifiable information with total strangers.

Think about that.

While the original intent of Yik Yak might have been noble in its intentions, it was also completely naive and obtuse to not predict how it would be used in real life by human beings with dirty, nasty little minds. It's time to end this thought experiment before something truly awful happens as a result.

Re: IFTTT Needs Webhooks, Stat : jazzychad's blog

So I'm guessing they never added it?

Re: Hangouts and SMS

more like the canary in the coal mine :)

Re: Hangouts and SMS

I tried it mostly because it insisted.
