Ticket to Ride gets a lot of play for us, in particular.

My 9 year old loves the Settlers of Catan card game. She delights in exploring new strategies for winning.

She liked Kids of Catan a lot when she was much younger - I want to say maybe 6-7? She was kinda old for it then, too, but I think she liked it as much for the lovely wooden pieces as anything.

Set is a great game for kids, they are way more intuitive about things like that than adults, and again, they can win fairly.

Re: why i am not afraid to take your money, by amanda fucking palmer

Amen. There should be no shame in asking money for what you do. And there is no shame in paying for it. When the man with the flute in the train station makes the end of my long evening commute better, I give him a dollar. When I find something that soothes my soul or incites me, it's worth my money. And it *doesn't matter* how much money has already been paid, given, collected. 'cos that isn't my business.

Business is business, and business runs in the family, because it feeds the art. Thanks for writing this - it makes me feel better about the "selling out" aspect of selling art.

Re: Apple Streaming Music

I liked the Beats music service when it was Mog. I guess Facebook, Goodreads, or Last.fm are the new alternatives, but I'm guessing most people never look at someone's library other than their own.

Re: Nerds Unite – Charming Photos of People Connected by Hobbies

I like the idea of this project very much but dislike the execution. Guess what was weakened to the point of failure in a short time? Steel? You got it, guess what else? It was rated for much higher weight/strength than the steel used in the twin towers.

Remember the most simple answer or solution is often the correct one. The complexity of a conspiracy large enough to secretly take out multiple structures in NYC through controlled means is immense. This is a project that would require thousands of man hours of planning and a large group of individuals to pull off efficiently and in a timely fashion. For this conspiracy to have happened as suggested you would need a large team of individuals with varied technical backgrounds. You would then need this large group to maintain secrecy for the rest of their lives, or dispose of them all.

Re: Christian music star Jennifer Knapp comes back and comes out

Regarding Einstein's beliefs which are AGAIN misspoken here.
