Yeah, that's it. It had nothing to do with watching the incoming midshipmen running by in their tight shorts.

Re: After Plumcake: Hola!

Two things going on with Don: a) everyone stank. I quit smoking nearly 20 years ago and smoking hasn't been allowed in any public place in my county for about a decade. I had forgotten how bad smoke smells until I had to go to my son's girlfriend's house to meet her parents. It nearly made me vomit. Back when I was smoking, I never noticed it. b)I'm in love with the fantasy Don and Roger. Those slick suits and Fedora hats are to me, what lingerie is to men. Compared to today's men, wearing grubby jeans and t-shirts to every occasion, the men from Mad Men look sexy.

Re: After Plumcake: Help a Sister Out: Postpartum Depression

What kind of help is needed? I had post-partum depression with both of my sons. My PPD was bordering on pos-partum psychosis with #1. It does exist and is a medical condition. It has nothing to do with how you feel you're doing as a mom or how you feel life is supposed to be when you come home from the hospital. It is a medical condition that occurs when your body goes from suddenly growing another human being to not. If you are prone to depression or anxiety, prior to pregnancy, you are more likely to get PPD. Get medical help ASAP. Mention it to your OB/GYN when you see her. Mention it to your pediatrician when you see her. Mention it to your baby nurse or lactation consult. The key here is to talk about it with a medical professional.

Re: After Plumcake: I Don't Want to Overgeneralize

That's what we call "a panty dropper".

Re: Lessons learned from my birthday friend

Thank you, Robert, from another RHS '91 grad. They sure have come a long way. Back then, you had a choice of black or black. If you were willing to pay for the very posh brand, you could get navy tartan.

Re: After Plumcake: Mother's Day Troubles

Gee, I thought I was the only one who was apathetic about Mother's Day. I always walk into a Hallmark Store the day before Mother's Day and look around for the cards that tell mom she sucked. They never have those. However, now that I am a mom myself, I think I'd like Mexican Mother's Day much better. Margaritas and loud music sound much better than mimosas and an omelette station.

Re: IBS Is Why I’m Still Single

I know this is an older post but I just had to comment. Have you tried a low dose of amitriptyline? My GI put me on it about 5 years ago and it has helped alot. The severe cramping is gone completely, unless I binge on really horrid stuff like ice cream and cheeseburgers. I still have episodes, but not daily, like before and not as bad.

Re: Sew For Victory! Everything I sew is from 40s patterns but since starting a new job at a fabric store, my productivity has gone way done. I have fabric and pattern waiting but no motivation to sew. This will help with that!

Re: Topics of conversation at Rockalily Cuts - Alternatively Lovely -

That shows the difference between a Rockabilly salon and a "normal" salon. My conversations with my customers tend toward books, TV, movies, local issues like weather/traffic, my clients' children, haircare.

Re: Website Login -

I love your accent! Isn't it wonderful? I generally do at least one batch each summer, usually blackberry, but the boys were so busy that we didn't get to the pick-it-yourself orchard during blackberry season this year. The little sugar pumpkins are back at the grocery store, so this week's new thing with be fresh pumpkin butter.
