Seems Aweber isn't always 100% sure who opens your emails. On plus side at least email deliver-ability is higher than reported.

Re: Win a Free Lifetime Membership to ‘The Marketing Lab’

I'm a big fan of your systems Kim - so anything that breaks down into a set of steps that can be followed to duplicate some of the success you've seen would be great. Especially if some of that advice is detailed enough that I can simply pass it on to my virtual staff and they can follow it to create traffic sources without my involvement.

Aside from that - marketing chats sound great. It's a good way to kick around ideas and to troubleshoot what hasn't been working. Also a chance for people to share what has worked for them.

Finally, people learn through examples. So if you can pick out a few sites either by well known marketers and those getting started and critique what you would do differently then that would be amazing advice.

Thanks,
Andreas

Re: New bike blogs for 2011?

I was sad to hear about EcoVelo stopping. Personally, I've tried the shower method, the take the bike downstairs method and the clean in the kitchen. Definitely don't recommend the clean in the kitchen as leaves too much grease everywhere. Shower clean is a pain so I tend to carry the bike downstairs, soapy water it and then carry it upstairs again and outside my doorway (a balcony style area) I then rinse down using clear water. Not ideal but sure feels a lot nicer to ride after a clean!

Re: Airbag bike helmet

Looks like at fairly low speeds you'd be okay

Re: Bike Doctor App Empowers Mobile Bike Repair (Video)

The app is available both for the Android and the iPhone.

Re: Endomondo Android App: Track Down Everything about all your Outings

Hey guys,

We released a cool app you might find interesting. It's called Bike Doctor and it shows you how to repair your bike. If while you're out doing some awesome cycling something crops up it's useful to have the instructions there with you. (It certainly saves a load of money compared to taking it to a bike shop). Do let me know if you'd be keen on featuring it and I'll get you a free download.

Andreas

Re: 8 Desktop Blog Editors To Make Your Blogging Faster

Doh that's a shame as new version fixes a load of annoying bugs of old version - surprised Microsoft don't look into doing a fully featured version that you have to pay for. I use it with Google Maps really often to work out my way around the city. There's also another app called bikedoctor (http://bikedoctorapp.com) that was released that shows you how to repair your bike. That more than doubled my income last month. I then was approached by someone who wanted me to build them a campaign website. They gave me a very nice sum of money to do that which I'm using to travel to Argentina. I was also approached by a girl who sells a range of female cycling clothing and wants me to help her increase her conversions and drastically improve her website. Travelling has featured heavily in my achievements too. I did a trip to Brazil which involved Favelas, getting robbed at gun point on a beach at 3am and taking in some of the world's most spectacular views!

The next 3 months are certain to be interesting. 2 iPhone apps on the way, building up my e-mail list, writing gigs in major newspapers and getting mentioned in major publications such as Timeout. Also I want to travel to America for the first time.

To really step things up a level I'm trying to stay more motivated by keeping an eye on my goals. At the moment the best motivation I get is everyone thinking I'm a little crazy for leaving university and not getting a job. I like the fact I'm the friend in my group that is providing this counter argument to the classic idea of you have to have a job.

Off to post up some Tweets! Thanks very much David for this competition and offering up this book. I've been eyeing it for a while and am needing something good to read on my next travels.

Re: 2 Emails That Transform Your Newsletter Email List Into Cash

Fair enough to you if you manage to write plenty of content. I prefer 2 content e-mails to one promo e-mail. Some of the wealthiest of the online marketers I follow will pretty much do 2 promo e-mails to 1 content e-mail. However, I do tend to unsubscribe for their list so I agree at that level it is spamming. One guy I do follow who I think does it really well is Ramit from iwillteachyoutoberich. He tends to pull it off nicely with content emails and then a rare promo email. Even when the promo email comes through it still provides tons of value and doesn't feel like a promotion
