I have definitely added side trips to my travel especially when I traveled some place for business and want to use that as a launching pad to go somewhere fun. Now that I have moved from the West Coast (US) to the East Coast I am thinking of a side trip to Hawaii before heading to a Japan in 2022!

I was hoping to visit the Netherlands this year but that didn't happen, maybe next year. This looks like a fun spot for a 1-day trip, I will be going for work so that is all I will have.

I have been to the Big Island a few times and I absolutely love it. Despite going to other islands, I always come back the Hawaii as my fav. Especially Hilo!

Oh, oh, oh! I am ALL about these adorable tiny houses! I have only been to Detroit and Grand Rapids and fell head over heels with both and want to do a whole bunch more exploring including on the lakes, so these are perfect!

What topics are you covering from a freelance perspective? I am saving money too, but it seems I do spend a lot on food, I knew it but there isn't anything else to spend money right now! Moved my trip to France in October to next October and preparing myself that travel other than anything I can get to in a car, is pretty much off the table for 2020!

I have done long distance relationships but they were a LONG time ago, I'm talking before social media and when int'l phone calls were expensive! It seems so much easier these days and I love all the possibilities that exist to connect. These days with the crisis in the world, whole families are having long distance relationships so these tips are particularly useful right now!

Great post! One things I have learned throughout my many years of travel is that food brings people together. And that my willingness to try all kinds of foods has really gone a long way, even when there are language barriers. People take pride in their local specialties and me showing their food respect and excitement has made me some lifelong friends!

Great trip! I used to go LA a lot for super short trips so I have done a bit of this - I always wanted to walk the canals and never got a chance. Cannot believe you got to meet Arnold that is super cool. I worked with a lot of celebrities in a former life and so many of them can be assholes, so glad that it seems Arnold is a good guy - he looks so good for his age! I have also always wanted to visit the Getty Museum - did you happen to get there?

Not sure this is on my bucket list unless I can teleport to the train, spend a day or two hiking and eating and teleport home - the train seems to make it all worth while and the food looks delish!

I do love rooftop bars as well and my favorite is the Westin in Florence where I have stayed a few times. I love having an apero there to end the day and see the sunset!

My family lived in Madrid for a couple of years and we visited so much, but we never got to Pampllona - can you believe it!? I go back t Barcelona now and again for business trips so I need to carve out some time to visit the next time I am headed there!

I lived in San Francisco for almost 30 years and always loved visiting (and even doing staycations at) the Fairmont - it is an absolutely beautiful hotel and I recommend everyone visit it, have a drink or a meal or stay!

I think that Playa Linda looks like my cup of tea, not so commercialized. The only time I seem to go to Orlando is for work conference and it is in and out, one of these times I am actually going to stick around and explore more - I like spots like this as it is not Disney!

I'm buying that cord manager as that is something that drives me crazy! I just recently started using bar shampoo and conditioner and am loving it. So much better than using those bottles in the hotel! Great stuff here, my poor family though, I already have a lot of these things!
