I've battled obesity since childhood. Last year I decided I wanted to LIVE or at least fight to live a better life. It was definitely a big turning point for me and so far, I've lost 90 pounds...and I can buy clothes at the store!!! It's amazing.

Despite all this success and all the high-fives I get from people at church, my weight journey has become more of an emotional battle...and I think your post is key to my struggle. I am desperate to lose weight so I can feel worthwhile, not seeing my worth in God. Furthermore, thinking that God can't use me because I'm fat, like I'm a major disappointment to Him.

Your post reminds me of WHY I matter to God...and it helps shove those evil, negative thoughts back into the dark depths from where they came. Thank you for reminding me how ALL of me matters.

Re: Walgreens Buys Rite Aid Pharmacy!

I completely agree! I rarely shop at Walgreen's because their system is so ridiculous. I love Rite Aid and hope this merger does not go through.

Re: Coming Soon: New ESV Journaling Bibles

I adore the ESV and read it on an app, but would love to have a paper copy...and since I take copious notes, this beautiful Bible would be perfect for me!

Re: Frozen Backpack with Assorted Hair Accessories Only $7.44 (Reg. $11.99)

I'm so getting it! I don't have a lot of close family, so my church is my family, which adds an interesting dynamic. I also closed myself off from people from 7 years while battling an illness. I think friendship is a healing balm.

Re: Wednesday Hot Deals

The best gift ever is....50% off Russell Stover chocolates the day AFTER Valentine's Day. So far, it seems that coming home is the hardest because I have only one dog to greet me, not two. And my 5 year-old shih tzu greets me frantically, like she's hoping I brought Cassie home. Or maybe it's because she's never been alone like this her entire life, until now.

No, it's not natural. And I hate it. But I am so thankful for the hope in God--that all things will be redeemed.

Re: SCLQ – Skits

LOL. Our church has 4 services and is going to 5. Therefore, it would be a lot of dramatic happenings if a skit was done at every service. They did a really funny one about "THE BIGGEST LOSER" on Sunday actually.

Re: Five Ways to Find a Mentor

This is very helpful as I'm looking for a mentor. Since leadership is one of my gifts, it is challenging to find a woman in church leadership (fortunately my new church is a UMC). I thought God would plop someone in my lap, but your article confirms the need to be intentional (and prayerful) as I find my mentor. Thank you for writing this!

Re: Tim Tebow: The Christian Girl’s Heartthrob

Excellent post, Hannah! This place is located in "THE PROMENADE SHOPS" a hip shopping center (sub "hip" for "expensive") that has music playing from the trees AND you can take your dog into the stores. Very sophisticated. Very not me. But I do want to take my dog into stores (no, B&N does NOT allow canines in their stores. Snobs.)

Re: iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books: In My Mailbox (19): ALA Recap and Giveaway

Great video!
