However, the execution was beyond poor.  if this was a part of her lesson plan, she should have been getting parental permission prior to the lesson.  As a parent, regardless of the child's race or the subject of the lesson, if a teacher bound my child in class without asking my permission prior to doing so, I would be livid.  I have a niece who, much like this young girl, is shy and self conscious about her peers.
