Has anyone else's quality of life gone to hell from the jerks who drive down the street like its their street with music so loud it shakes your floor. WHY THE F ARE THE COPS NOT DOING SOMETHING!?
and don't say they don't have the resources. its gotten progressivly worse over the past 10 years.

Any attack on this website will be delt with in our own way. You probably know who we are now and really don't care. We have been gathering information in our time away. Gotta love workcations. We will make public all infomation we have should we be approached, intimidated,etc. We know who you are and judging from your websites, our computer skills are a little more advanced then yours.

It is absolutly absurd the ammout of cars with blaring music and bass driving around this city and the police seemingly do nothing about it. They could make so much money for the city on noise fines its insane. It ruins the quality of life for all of us who have to get up to work in the morning.
I feel personally they have just given up. It angers me to no end that the remaining good people of this city have to deal with this constant problem.

For the record everyone. The main push for me to make this website was the lack of police help for my neighborhood problems. I have called several times about a property. Its always the same line. We will take care of it.
After an hr usually I call back and get the same response. If i am lucky then they show up or I have to call a third time.
It personally pisses me off to no end they say yea we will handle it and then nothing. Thank the police for pushing me to make this website, without their lack of help, it would have never gotten off the ground.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes they actually show on the first call, but its far and inbetween. Are noise complaints and drug dealing complaints not important enough to handle?

Well lets see. Having been robbed 3 times in 11 years...
I keep a bat by the door.
Have installed steel security doors on all entrances.
Have a security system.

You can't even walk down the street anymore without looking over your shoulder. When the hell did this place fall apart so bad. It affects every aspect of your life when you don't feel safe where you live. I have had it and won't twiddle my thumbs anymore. Please put your experiences here.

Personally I support Dan Cotnoir. My reason for doing this is simple. He wants to attack crime head on and make the quality of life for all residents better.

Reprat has inspired me to toy with the idea to have a debate with the candidates on the site. I doubt it will happen but as of right now i extend an open invitation to any candidate who wants to come.
It would not be run by any group, just me, someone who wants answers and does not want people dancing around the issues. I am going for blaitent honesty.
The invitation is now extended. We will see what happens.

loud music is one thing... loud bass that you can hear 2 blocks away is another. Its not about being an old fogey... its about respect. Which a lot of these jerks don't seem to have. Do you really need the bass so loud your car rattles? do you really need to grasp attention so desperatly?

You are being extreme, its not about silence lol. its about mutual respect for your neighbors. Bass travels and its beyond rude.
What gives you the right to blast bass like nothing. You know there is a noise ordinace. Maybe if enough people bitch on here the damn cops will take notice. We are sick of it.

And at night forget about it. Theres no excuse. You impose your crap music on us at 12, 1 am when people who have to work are trying to sleep.

It boils down to as long as i am happy thats all that matters screw everyone else... its time for a change.

i am glad we can debate civily... unlike some other websites we know.
My main complaint is bass, not music. Over an airconditioner, tv, and computer it still rattles the house, thats why i am so against it.
You seem respectable, you at least ask your neighbors. Even if the music was insanly loud it would not bug me, its the bass that litteraly vibrates the house.
There is no need for that and it shows selfishness.
I don't like rap to much i will admit. But anything that comes over the aformentioned appliances is just rude. I would be just as mad if it was rock music.

From what I have seen personaly, there is so much abuse its insane. I feel the people who get a free ride tend to not care about the neighborhoods either, thus the decline of south Lawrence and the sprawl of urban decay. i KNOW there are people who need the services, but I believe we really need to clean up the system. South Lawrence is starting to resemble north lawrence. Its not even a refuge anymore.
I ALSO FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD DRUG TEST THESE PEOPLE, They get state money, start treating them like state employees.

I want to know why the cops say they will come and don't, it would be less rude to just say we can't handle it.
I want to know what the mayoral candidates plans are to deal with the increased crime in lawrence.
I also would like to know who would be interested in forming a network. A community watch if you will. This site is starting to catch on, If we all work together, we can really turn this place around and put the trash in its place.

I like the idea of walking the neighboorhoods, It might be good to give some of them the exercise, plus they can see first hand whats goin on instead of driving by in a car.
Can a officer come on and please tell me why this is not feasible?
We don't hate cops, we are just getting frustrated from lack of help and some of the solutions are so easy...... WHY?

I wrote e mails to one or two candidates asking them if they would be interested in writting a letter for the site or comming on and whatnot. I did not even get the courtesy of a response so the hell with them. More politics as usual.
