Isn't it funny that the mainstream media only uses the term oligarchy when talking about Russia?

Re: Your Rage at Trump is Justified: Don’t Let Scolds Like the New York Times Shame You For It

The idea of splitting California into several states (6 or 7) has been gaining traction. The purpose is to increase the number of Senators for a fairly progressive chunk of the population. It's unfair that we have the same representation as Wyoming. I thought it was a sound idea.. what am I missing?

Re: The Hateful Indiana Pizza Parlor That Wanted to Refuse LGBT People Service Just Closed for Good

Luckily they found a place that would serve Jews.

Re: Big Brother 11: The Banner Plane, There Is No Trust And Rat-Nat Gets Confronted

Well yes, in fact, I am wealthy in spirit and imagination. I never bothered to get the live feeds because there was absolutely no way they could improve upon the perfection of your recaps. You're smart and snarky and insightful. This summer was my first venture into the blogs.... I can't believe I watched these shows "alone" all these years. Now that I've found you I'll follow you anywhere!

Re: Big Brother 11: The Natalie Beast And Her Obsession With Vengeance Against Michelle

Natalie fits the description of a sociopath. Somehow I can grit my teeth and tolerate all the lying and cheating that furthers someone's goals in the game. It's a lot of money. But as you have so thoroughly demonstrated, this bitch lies and cheats for the sheer pleasure she takes in being mean.

I'm pissed at Big Brother for not showing the worst of her in the edited broadcasts.... stealing Michele's gloves (needed for competitions).... cheating at pool and chess, against Kevin, her demon spawn... There are too many examples . The point is, America is seeing a tough, ruthless game player, rather than the psychotic cruel bully who revels in tormenting others.

One interesting trend I'm finding is that the gay community is distancing itself from Kevin. He gets kudos for getting farther than any past gay contestant, but he's so distasteful that any support is lukewarm. Makes sense.... if anyone is sensitive to bullying it's gays. Just not Kevin. He doesn't have any doubt about the righteousness of his cruelty.

Re: Big Brother 11: Who Eats? The Nominations - Michelle Takes A Stand And Chima Walks

Big Sister,

Girl, you lie! And you have some freaky imagination. I don't have the live feeds, but I know there's no way the three witches could have said some of those things as you report them. Chima couldn't possibly have said she shouldn't have to compete for POV after all she's done in this game. What, the rules don't apply to her? She deserves special dispensation? BB should create a separate reward just for her... like a Lifetime Achievement Oscar. By winning HOH once she can just go ahead and collect the half mil. She did such a spectacular job... the equivalent of weeks of challenges and strategy by everyone else for the past 10 seasons.

Isn't it cute how Chima and Jessie just caved at the first whiff of difficulty? The "strong woman" and, um, the man, the myth, the legend. Jessie reacted to adversity by curling up and sleeping, Chima by making threats then just giving up. Even Julie Chen asked Jessie why he didn't try. And sad little Jessie replied that there was no point, sigh, he wasn't going to be able to change Jeff's mind. At least I think that's what he said... his interview was mostly incomprehensible. I understood the individual words, just not the way he strung them together.

One thing everybody knows about Big Brother is that things can change in a split second. Not just because BB creates unexpected twists, but because people are unpredictable, especially under pressure. Alliances are formed, destroyed, and formed again based on the silliest misunderstandings. Or based on shrewd strategizing. They have nothing but time in that house, yet neither Jessie nor Chima could get it together to make an effort. Poor me, poor me, pour me a drink.

I love your commentary, Big Sister, and am glad I found you. Now I have to go back and read through your archives. Thanks.
