This is actually something that I've wanted to hear about from you for a long time, but never commented about it. I've always wondered when you're making most of your income on ebook sales, etc how it works with taxes and just personal finances in general. Hah so true. But your blog is pretty sweet so I hope you let it distract you sometimes ;)
So I got a gig teaching a film class for 1 month, but I just can't get paid until I get my visa/tax card. The Norwegian system is so slow!
I have heard of people getting jobs from blogs though. At the very least it can be a virtual portfolio :)

That makes me feel a bit better. I can't imagine why people would want their wedding photos or photos of their babies looking all funky, but apparently they do.

Very interesting point you make. I think you're quite right about the internet and other electronic things affecting our perception of time and also our attention spans too.
As for focusing on the future and being goals oriented, I agree that it is important, but it's also important to acknowledge when you achieve goals and even take some time to bask in the present. You can't really deal with the uncertainty of the future. Not that I know of anyway, just keep on keeping on as if it's certain.
You're right though, when you're outside there is always something to see and feel and smell and hear and sometimes something to taste if you're lucky. :)
