They just don't get it.

Re: Software is the New Rock and Roll

John Pelotas Collective is for real. They are just building buzz for their first concert.

Re: Software is the New Rock and Roll

There are a LOT of similarities between music and tech start-ups.

Steve Jobs presenting the new Mac in 1984 was a rock n' roll moment (http://www.youtube.com/watc.... All his last keynotes are like rock concerts. He is the closest you can get to a rock star.

At the same time, there are a lot of similarities between the "Punk movements" of the 70's (guys in a garage that didn't know how to play music, learn 2 chords and start playing....and going against the virtuosos symphonic rock of that moment) with the internet start-up movement of the last couple of years (with some PHP scripting knowledge, cloud service and a couple of bucks you can go out an test your idea....breaking through the big-fat-corps).

PD: However, lately, I'm getting more inspired by "rock" bands than internet start-ups. Radiohead is a start-up. And I love that.
