My dad had one of those after his open heart surgery. I can't tell you how happy I am that everything went well!! Keep Jonathan offline and resting. My best wishes to everyone!

Jonathan - this is so incredibly frustrating! I agree... can't the docs just talk it out?? Whatever they decide upon together should be what goes. Is hashing things out taboo in the medical world? About to dial up my mom (an anesthesiologist)..

Nothing is more frustrating than when a doctor doesn't seem up-t0-speed with your case. In the end though it sounds like you got some good information. Glad JZ's last day of teaching was today so he can just kick it a bit before surgery.

I feel privileged to have a password to this blog and to be able to follow what you are going through more closely. As others have said, it should all come out in a book one day. All the trips to specialists, all the conflicting advice, all the tough decisions. Until then rest up and know people who care about you are rooting you on from the cyber sidelines. And thanks to Laura for maintaining this blog.

Hi John - we did go to Kauai ... but for pleasure, not to shoot. I ended up fracturing my arm though so maybe I should have been filming after all! It's soooo beautiful! Probably my favorite Hawaiian island.. but I haven't been to them all. Are you from there?

Gangplank seemed to be more about collaboration, undoubtedly. I think Daniel's concept is more about a pay-as-you go "office hotel". Both good ideas but in many ways very different.
