I use this on the server at home: "shutdown -s". Enter this from Start->Run or the command prompt.
If you're program doesn't accept commands like this, you could paste this command into a file and name it with the extension ".bat", run and enjoy.

I have a harmony (the 785), the one you've pictured first. My girlfriend gave it to me cause she knew it was one of those things I'd never buy but would love to have. True there should be a standard for control codes, but that's not what these remotes achieve. I have a TV, VCR, DVD & HDD Recorder, and Mini System. And yeah that's a remote for each device. Every time I want to watch a movie I have to grab the TV remote, turn it on, go to the right input. Then I have to grab the DVD remote turn it on, switch to DVD (if set to HDD) then press play. On my Harmony I press "Watch a DVD" and it does all those steps for me. It just removes the need to have a million remotes, hence the name and no drugs involved. Good thing about these is they work kinda like shortcut macros on computers (with timing support too), so you can program them to do whatever you want, with however many devices you have. And if it doesn't already list the function, you could simply teach it by recording the output of a remote to the input of the Harmony. $800 seems a bit off though, you're better off getting 400 roles of sticky tape. Don't ever get one if you don't need it, or the person you are getting it for doesn't want or need it either. I had 5 remotes, now 1. And it has a recharge dock so I don't worry about batteries either.

It's basically a mouse without movement right? "Ambidextrous" my ass, anything that doesn't have some asymmetrical curvature in it can be used by both hands. Like toothpicks and USB Cables.

OK look I don't mean to offend, but seriously? Integras? Not just Integras but Supras too. They just look like poor imitations of sports cars. One of my mates drives a 350z, even though I sorta dislike them (I'm an RX-8 kinda guy), I can tell you they are much much better. Hell yeah, they're more expensive but that's not my point. I'm not calling every Integra driver a ricer or anything, but I just fail to see how they look that good to be so proud of. I really don't see it. Maybe it's the whole price thing. If you can afford an SLK or M3 or an R8, I give you far more respect that if you drive a car that looks so wannabe and costs less. I drive a $30'000 2007 Camry Altise (I wanted an Ateva- but come on.. 4 thou for the same thing?), and I'd rather fall into some Typical Asian category (the newer models look European, far better than the old ones*) as opposed to a wankster or azn gangSTAAAAA. My best mate when he's not speeding in his Explorer drives his Mazda 3, now that's a nice car. Respect to all you Integra drivers out there though, if you're responsible and don't think your so cool then you're cool and got nothing to worry about. But if you think you're cool driving around in that, seriously you're better off drinking Mountain Dew.

The chick didn't post it herself, GPx (the boyfriend) did. The reason she wrote the blog entries saying "I don't care" is because she's damn well hurt by it. The internet is full of pussies who hide behind profiles and aliases, willing to say anything they want and not afraid to offend because no one can punch them in the stomach or dismember them. Imagine if this were you, and you were getting howled at and bullied by cowards who would say things on the net but never say it in the real world. You know... like Earth. This just shows how pathetic people are and how low they can get with no sense of respect or humility in themselves. I'm not saying the internet is full of bullies, I'm saying it's full of pansies who have more to camouflage than that they ridicule.

I don't know. Will Se7en save us? Frankly I'm saving up for a Surface and I don't have a problem with Vista. I ought to get alacarte around to help get OSx86 at least vmwared.

Well I'm glad Apple is here. Competition is good, makes Windows better. Funny thing is that they call MS a monopoly when Macs are only usable on Apple hardware, like come on, they complained they didn't have Internet Explorer on Macs and forced MS to make it for them.

Things have really changed from the days of letting go of ice cream and spitting in spinning theme park rides haven't they. Next thing you know, we have to take into account the Earth's curvature and the rate of expansion of the universe. I hate having to snipe targets further than 15 km away. Too much physics involved, by the time you've finished calculations the target has already moved.

Windows Live Messenger sends any clipboard image as a JPG. JPG's inherently kill quality to reduce size. When you mean to say Macs paste screen shots, is this for Messenger or for clipboard/desktop? Because PCs' print screen is actually a BMP (Bitmap) which retain 100% quality but have NO compression. Mac probably saves it as a PNG, which wouldn't sacrifice any quality, I know my Fedora 8 system does this. If you want more customisation you could try this the MSN Plus! Script:

Custom programs? Yes you can run custom applications.
Intercept HID? No, the hack is simply an extension of the existing bundled software, meaning it requires it to work. It is simply a means of automation rather than a separate program but works quite well. I am currently working on the features set and a new interface, which I don't expect to take longer than a few days. Hopefully it shall meet your needs! I expect, as with any evolutionary prototype, for it to grow with feedback and suggestions.
