Thanks for participating in Fiber Arts Friday.

Re: Tweezyblog | Explain to me how there is an entire magazine...

Alpacas are big business with over 4000 alpaca breeders in the United States. It's a serious livestock alternative. Alpacas are used for their luxury fiber. They are shorn once a year and require only one acre for 6-7 alpacas. They average 150 lbs. so you don't have to be a 25 year old cowboy to handle them, and you get great tax advantages when you invest in breeding stock. Most people like it that you don't have to kill them and they don't try to kill you! :)

Re: Heavy Honesty

I am so sorry that happened to you. Sounds like you have had a rough summer/early Fall! Thank you for blogging about it. I believe that when we are in business for ourselves and our customers get to know us (warts and all) - it does build relationships. And in turn helps our businesses.

That's why I blog about stillbirths and crummy things that happen on my farm. Life is full of ups and downs. If we only blog about the ups - it is - well, skewed. Some would disagree with us, but I believe transparency is the way to connect over the internet. It makes us human.

Hope the rest of the year is wonderful for you and your husband. Glad the pets, fiber, wheel, and yarn are ok. And how awesome the laptop was in the car!

Re: How I came to be a Blonde Chicken

I have always wondered how you got to be Blonde Chicken. This is a sweet story. I supported my talented artist husband for many, many years before he got his "big break". It's a special relationship when you support a creative loved one. Good for him. Watching you break away to do your dream is inspirational! Keep up the good work!

Re: Launching a Life

This is so exciting! Working for yourself is hard. But you get to pick which 80 hours you work. Lol! Hope you enjoy it, and wishing you great success. You're so talented and generous with your gifts - you're sure to do great.
