It definitely changed. This happened to me in 2004, so they've had 15 years to mess with it since then. :) I was going to see Orbital's penultimate concert. Well, before they reformed in 2012.

I paid about 11 am the next day, and it was 80 pounds This was right after it went live. What you're describing makes it sound like it's changed a lot since then.

I won't make that mistake again because I live in Canada now. :)

I got dicked by the London Congestion charge. I thought it was a good idea, but I lived in another town 2 hours away. We drove in. Could not get the kiosk to let us pay. So I said "I'll pay tomorrow". Nowhere did any sign say "pay by midnight or face a 40 pound fine". I wrote to councils, etc even the leader of the Labor party at the time. All answers were like "your problem" or "we spent X money publicising it".

One reason other games (not played AC) do this is because of the requirement to keep framerate high to prevent nausea. If the framerate ever dips, the tracking suffers, and people get disoriented. So if the main game can't function at the high FPS required, they have to hand-craft content for VR. This is what's going on in Gran Turismo Sport: VR mode is you and one other car. I'm certain this is because they can't render/physics more than two cars and keep the framerate up. Once you have the camera/controls set up in VR, there's no need to worry about anything else except framerate.

We don't do battle 24/7. There is daily downtime. We EVE players call this "23/7". :D

I use way, way more than 15 GB a month. Downloading games and OS patches. This is completely unfair. I don't torrent TV shows or music, and I would be unfairly punished for being a "good guy" when it comes to digital media.

I've worked near some of these things, and I know how much money comes in. Yes, a lot of people play free. But others spend several thousands of dollars over a single weekend.

Looks like a lot of good stuff on this list. I know it's focused on what goes on in rock and its periphery. But I just feel like Autechre's Tri Repetae is missing. Or maybe Sasha's airdrawndagger. At least there's one nod to abstract electronic with the Aphex Twin in there, though it isn't one I would have picked for a top 100 of the 90s.
