Hey all you JAZZ LOVERS. I happened to be financially able to be one of those folks who could run out and buy some realll;;;yyyy FANTASTIC music. I have a 93 chevy without a CD player and I travel thru several states. Couldn't have done it without what I taped from CD to cassette. Everything is current. All you got to do is promise to go out and buy at keast 1 CD. I have 75 hours of the best of the BEST!!!! We all miss KKSF and unfortunately guys, it's NOT coming back...OUR LOSS but I can help you keep the spirit. Nothing in it for me but the LOVE OF THE MUSIC. Smiles and love to all of you.

what di you think JAZZ LOVERS! Kets put our money where our mouths and ears are! Email Dave Koz or whoever your favorite artisit are, let THEM know there is support and possibly a station owned by the artists will bring back our station under THEIR MANAGEMENT. It can be done, but all of us must support them, buy CD's and go to their concerts. I have over 600 CD's just from the past 6 years, if you are not doing the same you are NOT aaaaa link in the support chain. Yes the channel was FABULOUS, but CD sell rates have a GREAT reason the KKSF channel is dead. Listen and enjoy, BUT ALSO BUY WHAT YOU HEAR.

Yes! KSSJ is the closest replacement, but we in the Bay Are have soooo many channels clouding the airwaves 90% wont pick-up reception in our homes or vehicles. Unfortunate.

Joe: ths not buying CD's is really a part of the reason for the station leaving the airwaves. Since KKSF I have 3 100 holder CD jackets FULL of smooth jazz music I have purchased BECAUSE of the fabulous music we have all listened to. This is part of the support-and no doubt part of their market research-to see how many of us were listening and buying what we heard. I am also very sad to see only 3,200+ comments on this site. Surely not everyone will blog, but I am stunned to see so FEW! And, many voices here are 5-6-7 time bloggers as I am.

David. Im with you on that!!!! Trip a day giveaways with MANY MANY WINNERS, concert tickets etc. The list of giveaways is endless. Not to mention 4 million raised for AIDS relief. You cant give it away if ya aint got the cash coming in to pony up!!!

yOUR FAN BASE WOULD HAVE BEEN HUGE IF IT HAD COME IN AS LOUD AND CLEAR AS IT DOES NOW. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PICK IT UP PAST LIVERMORE, VALLEJO, PETALUMA, MORGAN HILL AND NO DOUBT EVEN FURTHER OUT IN ALL DIRECTIONS. HOW DISAPPOINTING YOU COULDNT KEEP THE JAZZ FORMAT UNDER THE NEW CLEAR CHANNEL TO TEST IT OUT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR LACK OF MUSIC TASTE.

Why couldn't you have sent out a cry for help over the air to help keep KKSF alive, funded and still up and running??? KQED TV has their annual fund drives to keep their channel alive, and their loyal fan base PBS lovers continually send checks to buy whatever is being raffled at the time. If your listeners had been offered this choice wouldn't it have been worth the effort to see if possibly this could have worked??? The fact that over 4 MILLION dollars was raised for AIDS relief by buying KKSF Samplers speaks volumes, and suggests that the fan base and number of listeners would have jumped to keep you alive and on the air. We SOOOOOOOOOOOO WANT OUR LOVED STATION BACK TO SMOOTH JAZZ.

Steve D. I was wondering that very same thing on Sunday. Oasis was a step back from their Jazz format but was like being in a soothing cocoon-we have lost a true diamond on the rediculous decision. Im with ya brother.

Yesterday while listening to the Dave Koz afternoon show, the "Beatles" came on air. I laughed thinking Dave was having some fun at our expense, mixing things up so to speak. KKSF was GONE...not even a hint to your loyal listeners that it was coming. I am devastated, shocked, very upset. My dial on all radios and stereos throughout my home have been set to you for 20 years. This is truly a loss to us all, we mourn you KKSF. In your letter of explanation as to the format change you stated you hope listeners would continue to listen....ARE YOU CRAZY?? Your devoted listeners are JAZZ LOVERS, not ROCK. We have enough stations up-and-down the dial covering the new format now. My radio station was changed as of 3pm Monday. WOW!!!! Hiroshima, Jakiem Joyner, Candy Dulfer, Greg Adams, Richard Elliott, Rick Braun, where will we find you now. There must be a station willing to take over where KKSF has left off, hard shoes to fill indeed. You will be much missed KKSF. COME BACK-WE LOVE YOU.

The decision as financial to end KKSF Smooth Jazz ?? Surely this was not an overnight venture and was given careful consideration. While the contests were fabulous, surely the TRIP-A-DAY giveaways could have been shelved to enable a solid financial backing?

Say it isnt so...Our long and much loved KKSF is gone. This is truly tragic, there is no other station out there for all your devoted fans-what now?? You will be sorely missed, and I am sure I am as shocked as everyone out there. My station changed immediately Monday at 3pm when the new format began. In your blog you stated that you hoped all KKSF listeners would continue to listen. ARE YOU CRAZY?? There are enough Bay Area rock stations on the dial as it is, and any TRUE Jazz listener is just that, a JAZZ LISTENER. I am in shock. Hiroshima, Jakiem Joyner, David Benoit, Richard Elliott, Greg Adams...where will we find you now. Come back KKSF!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
