For much of the list, about 90 percent, I was like 'wow, Timberlake really IS a middling pop star,' but those last few entries how good he actually can be when he's not trying to sound hip or different. And yes, he owes Janet a Super Bowl-sized apology.

Thank you for correcting my errors. The post was written later at night based upon my recollections of the play.

I must have missed the mention of Karzai. I also realized that there was no mention of Daoud Khan or Babrak Karmal either. Again, as Daoud Khan's time was seen as one of change leading to several competing revolutionary ideas I think it would have added an interesting facet to the discussion. After all, there was so much talk of tribe and family etc, but the audience misses that the Soviets came in during a time of great societal revolution in Afghanistan (very similar to the situation in Iran at the same time).

As for the cost I paid student prices, so you are correct.

It's not really surprising to see a leader in Iran using red herrings to divert from the nation's real problems. But I guess that was his point, to gain media attention through sensationalism which would get his name in print.

In the end though, must have been a slow news day at the AP.

I will give it up to Get Together for being absolute pop perfection of the highest order, as for Hung Up, I think the SDP Extended Vocal remix is much better than the original (deleted the original from iTunes).

In general though, I think she has lost her knack for picking the right producers to work with at just the right time. She is just now doing a track with Lil Wayne (which based on the demo could be quite good), she let Brandy, Jay-Z, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake get the best Timbaland material of the last 5 years before she finally worked with him to uninteresting results. She was about 10 years too late with the Neptunes, and she got nothing great out of Kanye either because she worked with them all at the wrong time.

Call me when she does something interesting musically again and no longer has to rely on hanging on a mirror ball cross, flashing images of McCain and Hitler in the same montage, dressing up as the Pope and a nun, adopting African babies, and the like to get attention.

Good for them. It is about time that the United States started to take some responsibility for the role they took in creating this mess between Israel and Palestine.

Its funny, you have a problem with Hillary pledging $900 million to help the people of Gaza were the victims of atrocious and completely disproportionate Israeli war crimes but not with the United States providing millions and millions of dollars of aid and weaponry to Israel.

I think this one sided view of "jihad" and Muslims is the most dangerous thing for the United States - because you are merely vilifying an entire community of people for the actions and rhetoric of a small sub-sect. In turn, this very propaganda espoused by people who believe that Jihad only means murdering "infidels" is used to brainwash innocent people into committing atrocious acts against the West as signs of a conspiracy of hate and uncaring towards Muslims from the West.

Things are rarely as simple as the sensationalists would have you believe.

Current TV was started by Al Gore and its a TV station that mixes content produced by the channel itself and user-generated content. They also had a partnership with Digg and Twitter during the election.
