Nice article. I think most of web services if not all are transformed from other services. What you mentioned as “transformation” i think its a final process or upgrade of incremental innovation. So everything is a product of something else. Even the biggest apps on the net are built on somethig else. So for the Middle East to be a transormer ( which I dont thing such thing exists) we just need to solve our problems by borrowing other technologies with a twist of creativity.

I totally agree with you. There isnt a definite answer. This field is full of theories. If we look at real world entrepreneurs we can see successful ones from both sides that you mentioned. Some got degree and some dont.

1- Fame : how popular your name is (celebrity ?)
2- Twitter followers : how many followers you have .
3- Sponsored tweets can set the price (suggested) .
4- Or what ever price you want it to be .

You cant project. All you need to do after you have done your research is to enter the market , bootstrap , don't invite investors yet . Try to make profit , sell sell sell . Then you can tell if you are doing well or not !

I think Twitter should include more control over tweets. Especially those who have many followers/following .
