Probably, I might give it a try in a VM before. I found out some time a go the plain XFCE4 it's not like Xubuntu and I really like Xubuntu. They made some tweaks to XFCE that aren't present in the xfce4 package.

I own a Intel Compute Stick with only 8 GB of internal space, that means every bit I can squeeze out of the original installation would be appreciated. Currently it's running Xubuntu 16.04 and just after a fresh install and removing all unwanted stuff (mostly everything except for the browser) it gives me about 2.5 of free space. It'd be nice a plain installation with just a browser and nothing more.

I *really* **really** like the idea on paper, but 3.4 GB for that? It's like weight to much (pun intended). It should be like 1GB tops, I mean it's the kernel plus X plus the DE and a browser, why that much space?

I'm using it now on Xubuntu, so far I see the stoplights don't look as good as in the screenshots (are not as round, look pixelated http://i.imgur.com/pSAdtJ5.... but the worst part is that the maximize icon dissapears when the window is not focused http://i.imgur.com/KKM1x8k.png

Compré el mío usado en MercadoLibre hace 3 años por menos de $100 al cambio negro de la época. Durante unos meses jugué con XBMC y Boxee en base al OS X que traía de fábrica, pero en definitiva la mejor opción es Openelec. Una distro excesivamente minimalista que tiene SOLO lo necesario para que XBMC le corra encima (kernel, drivers y ya). Hoy en día mi Apple TV de primera generación sigue siendo mi centro de entretenimiento y descargas, todas las ventajas de XBMC, control remoto, es bonito, 720p (siempre que el archivo esté por debajo de los 2500kbps) y Transmission, que puedo gestionar desde mi MacBook usando Transmission Remote GUI, un app para OS X que resulta super práctico.

I don'r really care about NFC at all. I think it's great for pairing devices and payments, but the "near" part is not good for music. I prefer AirPlay or any WiFi based protocol, followed by bluetooth, regardless of bluetooth's lower quality on some cases

I don't know what/who Balrog is but would love to have Cave Story on my Mac for free +. I love pixels, I love platform gaming and I really really like Nicalis' games. I loved Knytt and Knytt Stories, they were an important part of my life for some time (I even managed to install the DS version althought they were originally made for Windows) and think Cave Story+ would be as much pixel fun as it could be.

I agree with you. I don't understand why people have that attitude towards Nokia. I've been using Android for a year now and still miss some things from Symbian. It is reliable and fast. I recently read about the C7 and I would gladly trade my flashless Samsung Galaxy Spica for an also flashless Nokia C7.

Since I don't use Yahoo nor intend to, I can't tell exactly what the failure is. What I can actually tell you is that most programmers/designers tend to work aiming for their sites to look "right" on popular browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox) leaving web standards aside, so my shot would go for this, for Yahoo people making something to look and work right on a popular browser instead of writing their code right.

I can't blame Yahoo or any other developer given that Internet Explorer and Firefox do not comply with web standards, but those browsers are the most used, it is "logic" (but not right) for them to make their sites work on those browsers instead of making their sites the way thy should be, regardless of if the sites will or will not work on a specific browser.

Mini also has little support for javascript and some advanced functions since all the heavy work is done on Opera servers, so stuff like mouseovers will not work on Mini for a technical reason. Try Opera Mobile instead, which should give you about the same experience you would have using Opera on a desktop.

I think this official release of Opera Mini 5 is more stable than the betas. It also brings back the RSS support which has been gone from all Mini 5 betas but available back in version 4. Leaving that aside there's nothing new on OM5.
