is it just me, or is it oddly incongruous that these folks haven't found any wines from the actual place called Patagonia to sell, as well as these other wines? One might say the amount available could be minuscule, but if they have a couple of Frank Cornelissen selections from Mt. Etna, it ought to be feasible?

the wine world has already gone down this road. it was called "allocation." Fortunately, micro brands took up some of the slack. the independents. I see that happening in the watch world too. I can't get a Royal Oak or a Nautilus? No problem, I can get a Octo Finissimo or a Parmigiani. I cant get a Screaming Eagle or a Bond? No problem, I can get a Sandland or a Massican. We always have a choice.

A fascinating subject, Alder. When I conduct wine tastings (or staff trainings) I emphasize to the participants that they follow their own nose (and tongue) as that is their "true north." If we only knew... but then, if we did, we humans would find other points of distinction. all part of our personal terroir, our territoreality.

Andrea, who I consider a friend, started his business at the same time as the worldwide economic meltdown in the fall of 2008.No stranger to defining moments, he moved to NY from Italy in August of 2001. Really a great guy, lots of integrity and someone who saw the American Dream and has gone after his share of it. Love this guy.

- As one from an older generation, I'm sorry, but they don't frighten and perplex me. Maybe it was my education at Santa Clara that taught me the only constant is change (and 40 years later, we have seen a ton on change). I see millennials much in the same was as the boomers were seen - full of energy and ready to take on the world, on their own terms.

I'm all for them!
