I am always so amazed at the amount of promotion you give everyone else on your blog. It's fantastic. Hope all is well out there...The big move is Monday or Tuesday and then we'll be "neighboors" again....can't wait -
Alex

Re: Daniel Johnston @ Penland

I wanted to do this course so badly. I know the old coil and throw technique that Matt and Mark employ but I am drawn to Daniels technique because of the extreme lack of ware and tare it puts on your body. There is no centering 20 to 25lbs of clay. Not a whole lot of wrist straining crimping. All in all a very easy going technique once it has been mastered which I don't think comes as easily as the regular coil and throw. I think I am going to take a trip up there this weekend however...maybe Saturday afternoon..and stop by for a visit. I could swing by you place and we could roll up there together....

Re: Line

Seagle made the most beautiful pots.....

Re: Some Pots From the E-Kiln

Michael, those look very nice indeed. Im sorry I bailed on my plans to stop by last weekend. Things went a little longer than planned (by about 3 hours) in Mars Hill. I promise I will make it up there soon. We may even be neighbors in the not so distant future!

Re: Monday Circles: Excuses, Excuses

I cannot believe that you do all this blogging on dial up. As far as that school goes he is definitely one of my favorites. His surfaces are so rich with so much going on but really subtle as well.

Re: Climbing the Mountain

That is a wonderful quote Michael. I helped with this last firing of his and was astonished by how much salt enters the kiln via a leaf blower. The show looks great....
Michael, sorry I missed you in Charlotte, I had an unexpected family thing in NYC I had to go to. Don't know when Ill be in WNC next but I hope things are going going good for you and your family-
Alex

Re: Dry Inside

How goes it up there? This reminds me of this old Winnie the Pooh cartoon I used to watch where it's pouring rain all over and piglet comes over and asks pooh whether its raining where he lives when clearly it is as poohs entire house if filling with water. Its pouring rain here in Pittsboro as well. That was a very nice description of how the brush work evolves. When I was at Matt's I would start out the same way. The old standbys and eventually hope that something new would just work it's way in. And it usually does. Looking forward to seeing you down at the Mint.... lets go out and get some suds after.

Re: Help Wanted

KLINE! just got back. when are you looking for this said help?
