I'm remotely ashamed to admit how much I like this guy.
Ever since Derrick Comedy and the Bro Rape video, I've been following his career.
Community maybe the best show not named Parks & Recreation or Modern Family on TV right now.
Granted he sounds a SHIT TON like Wayne, but I actually find his punchlines amusing and not grating.
You should get some of the earlier stuff, there's some real gems on there.
I like the "I Am Just A Rapper" mixtapes and the Poindexter album.

I went to that fucking thing because a rapper buddy of mine had some friends in the other battles.
I had zero intentions of rapping that day.
The battles were scheduled and everyone knew who their opponent was gonna be.
She stepped on stage and her opponent didn't show up.
My friends gassed me up, so I just did it.

And that line wasn't to be funny jb, I literally forgot her name while I was on stage.

But no seriously, Yelawolf is going to be the Drake of this year's hollowed freshmen list.
Dude is insanely talented and for the most part, a complete original.
I will say that I liked the Ballad of Slick Rick E. Bobby mixtape a bit more, but I'm clearly in the minority on that opinion.
And CyHi is cool, just seems really into punchlines and not much else.
And the Kanye co-sign is suspect to me, because he's signed to Def Jam.
Just sayin..........

Also, after dwelling on this at the gig a bit, I wanted to clarify that I'm not anti-blogs. I love seeing my name on sites. Fresh has always supported my career, and its meant so much to me when I was going through down periods and not sure if I should continue. But I can't let it become my focus.

OK, I always try to not comment on these, as I feel its a form of vanity. But, Fresh, you're absolutely right. When I first started trying to promote my music, I was obsessed with getting on Nah Right, 2 Dope Boyz, and all that bullshit. Now, I really could give 2 fucks about it. They've never actually broken any artists. They help, sure. But are they the end-all, be-all of promotion? Absolutely not. I have other MC friends whos dream it is to be on blogs.

But me? My career trajectory is going to be based on making dope ass shit and organically building a buzz on my own terms. Touring, merch, and building a true fan base. My idols in business are people like Tech N9ne and P.O.S., MCs who aren't on the blogs every 2 seconds but have extremely loyal fan bases that support them regardless of how famous people perceive them to be.

Sorry for the rant as well, but I was actually thinking about this for the past couple of days. Heh.

DUDE! You have NO IDEA how many times I've listened to this mixtape in the past week. Its far and away the best thing Diddy's been involved in since forever. I'm almost ready to forgive him for that Duets album. Its THAT GOOD.
