It's had the same effect on me that the book The Comfort Trap did (which was the book that got me to stop coasting and to follow my writing dreams out of Canada to Spain) - except without making any drastic changes.

You also got me thinking about resolutions - and I've come up with 36 of them (doing them in a version of my own Happiness Project).

Thanks again for sending it to me!

Cheers,
Alex

Re: What the Heck is Integrated Marketing Anyway?

I just decided to apply an integrated approach to drive people to a single point in my website and suddenly all my various marketing ideas have coalesced into a single marketing strategy and for the first time since I start running my own businesses back in 2003, I'm actually excited about marketing.

Re: How To Instantly Make Time For Yourself – And Get More Accomplished

The last point - put yourself first - is one that many of my clients have troubles with. Women especially are taught to put others first and then they end up totally unhappy with life and feeling too busy and unproductive.

A little bit of selfishness is a good thing!

Re: Some Counter-Intuitive Facts about Loneliness.

When I lived in a small French village and all the people I knew had kids and therefore disappeared as of 6pm, I was never so lonely and never so hermit-like.

However instead of making me unhappier, knowing that the stay was not forever, I embraced the loneliness and had a wonderful time by myself. If I hadn't knew it was going to end, however, I'm certain I would have just gotten sulky and more withdrawn...

Re: "We Are Never So Much Disposed to Quarrel As When..."--What?

So totally true. I'm all for lifestyle design (and in fact talk about it all the time on my own blog) but for me it's not at all about passive income, internet marketing or even necessarily about money. It's about doing what's best for you and best for those around you (including the world at large).

Glad to have found you through Cath Duncan's latest blog carnival!

Re: A Fundamental Secret to Happiness? In fact in my mid-20s I had a sleep study done and they told me that I'm good with six to seven hours and then my brain wakes up and gets active, meaning by the time my body wakes up later I'm exhausted and feel like I haven't slept at all.

Re: The Flip Side of “HELL YEAH!” Or No – How About “HELL WHY NOT!”

I lived most of my life with HELL WHY NOT? and found that I was doing a trial and error approach to my goals. When I choose the HELL YES! approach I got specific and took control of the decisions in my life for the first time. I acted instead of reacting.

Of course I didn't go to the extreme - I still say HELL WHY NOT? and have lots of fun exploring new things, but I do try to focus on finding more HELL YES! moments.

Re: A Secret to Happiness? Don't Get Organized.

Yahoo! This is a great post. As an organizer, my number one piece of advice to clients who wanted to get organized was: keep very little.

For example, I'm not a big paper person - hate it in fact. For all my business expenses and papers in a year, I stick them in monthly envelopes in a box and label the box.

Any other papers that need to be kept that aren't financial go in my "Important Papers Box" completely unsorted. I don't need to organize them because I keep very few papers. When the box is full, I go through it and get rid of what I no longer need.

It makes life so much simpler!

Re: The Audacity of Free

This conversation is happening everywhere and it's setting off a millions thoughts in my head.
