So if you buy something that is on our list, but is before the trigger, you are thinking it is for a day trade? Just wondering. I have seen you do that a couple of times.

Hi Joe,

Do you put trigger prices into your software so that if a stock hits a trigger it automatically puts in an order for you?

I can't seem to catch these and I'm thinking that is the only way. Usually when they go, they go really quickly and often times when the market is up many trigger right around the same time.

Just wondering what your advice is on this.

Also, I trade full-time and I really try to sit in front of the computer even if I am not trading in order to learn from other people and watch what is going on. Really what I'm saying is there is no reason for me to miss these triggers, but I do it anyway. It just happens so quickly. (-:

Hi Joe,

I looked up the earnings on Earnings Whisper.com and

QCOM and FFIV are both reporting after the close on July 22 (which I believe is Wednesday)
and RVBD, STAR, JNPR are reporting after the close on July 23.

This is my first time to look up when earnings will be reported, so you might want to take that into account. I'll check your previous post also.

I have to say that I am very, very happy that I changed from Etrade to IB. I am sure that there are plenty of other great brokers out there too, I think that I'm really saying that Etrade was so slow that they cost me money for their slowness. My orders on IB are lightning fast - really helps lock in profits quickly or really minimize my losses.

I don't think their platform is difficult at all to learn, but it depends on how computer savvy you are and how comfortable you are learning on you own. It's really not that difficult if you have done it before. I traded for a while with Etrade and got the hang of it. I also wasn't happy with the customer service at Etrade or the slow execution times.

I was with Etrade, but they were terrible at having shares to borrow and their execution is really slow. I am now with Interactive Brokers and they are great. You can look on their website and see what is available to short. So far I haven't had any trouble at all.

Hi Tomomichigan,

I had the same trouble with Etrade. I moved half of my money to Interactive Brokers and now have no trouble. Etrade had shares available only 2 out of every 10 times I tried to borrow them.

Well, I'm with Etrade, and they seem to be the worst at having shares to short! (-: I opened up an account with Interactive Brokers and am almost ready to move some money to them.
